Could you make a black top with the piece between the arrows and cluster above it cut out? Just the top sheet.

As in you would just want a single top piece?

Btw the plates has arrived and it fits, uploading pictures has been quite a hassle lately so that has to wait.

is the pcb or plate fixated in any way or does it just sit in there? I've always wondered about this in these plexi cases..

Will post on the group buy thread eventually, the different colours will have tier levels pricing just like keycaps, trying my best to make it as affordable as possible.

Please don't sacrifice the design and finish/quality of the case by saving a few dollars.  There are examples of Poorly Designed Keyboard Cases which hardly sell.

But the decent finished cases are ALWAYS highly sought after, for years to come.

So will it to be too much trouble to have a top piece of acrylic with the entire right side opened up for those who want to use all the switches on their phantoms?

AFAIK, there are no plates with this group buy. That plate pictured is a phantom plate from the phantom gb. Otherwise, you would just re-use the stock plate from your tkl board.

If you want a custom plate for a tkl with the hole cutout on the right side for the controller, you can try to find someone selling theirs from the previous universal tkl plate gb. Word on the street is that WFD is doing another limited run of these soon.

ETA: takaki I am excited to see the phantom fits this case. I am also curious as to how well it is supported? Does the case support the plate on all sides? Are there any standoffs with this case or is it only supported by the sides of the plate? Thanks

My apologies I meant cut out for a phantom plate which I already have! ;)

Oh lol, I misunderstood. And I am fairly certain that this will be offered (this is what I want too). In fact, I think there is a pic of just such a thing in the OP. It was mistakenly called "96 key type" at first but somewhere in this thread is a discussion of how it is supposed to be "92 key type" to reflect the five extra keys.

The top plate is definitely going to be customizable, The finish of the acrylic is not the key issue, it is all about the design. I'll take note to do something really nice instead of really cheap.

Great. Any info about shipping internationally? I'm also a bit confused regarding colours; I'm not too sure what the colours will look like on the case itself? I'm having a hard time basically visualizing what the colours will look like and which I might be interested in.

EDIT: Is there no way of having the top and bottom white and the middle an opaque color? Like the ones seen here: http://deskthority.net/marketplace-f11/acrylic-case-for-filco-tenkeyless-keyboard-t1804-60.html

I think he said very clearly from the start that the acrylic maker only has opaque white, black and clear for the middle though.

How about counter sinking for the top plate so that the screw doesn't stick up above the surface?

I remember when Litster was making his case, one reason he went opaque on the bottom layer was because the solder joints came in contact with the bottom layer. They scratch the hell out of the bottom and it looks real bad. How will this be avoided on this case?

the solder joints wouldn't be touching the bottom layer because the plate is elevated via resting on one of the centre acrylic piece, prototype #2 (hopefully final prototype) will be out next week.

As for flushed screws, looking into the design and the length of screws available to use with the reduced length required.

Winkeyless design is nearly completed.

Guess I'll have to go for the red on the top and bottom and white in the middle then :) Still interested in a quote including shipping to the UK.

so just heads up, do you guys think that having a hole at the bottom is good or is it better to cover up the hole with another layer. I'm worried that the USB won't be able to fit in the casing if there is no cut out.

prototype #2 is out, pictures taken by manufacturer.

Top 87 keys with no LED holes.

definitely have to do another 10mm layer to fit the PCB for the detachable USB port for CM QFR.

Flushed screw holes are not recommended as there would not be anything to hold the top layer and the other layers together.

Filco don't need that cut out but QFR will need it since the USB plug is around that area, maeby you should have bottom plate for Filco and QFR as separate when ordered. Also do the cutout hole needs to be that wide?

I would much prefer an extra layer to cover the cutout. I do not want my case open to liquid, dust, or anything else. However, if it doesn't fit, it doesn't fit.
