"What happened to the option for a plate?" - There wasn't much demand during the Interest Check phase for a plate although a file will be made available after the group buy.

Oct 14th, 2018 - Orders compiled from proxies and submitted for production.
Dec 5th, 2019 - Everything is currently in production and on track to meet the estimated ship date.
Dec 17th, 2019 - Boards are currently being anodized.
Dec 26th, 2019 - PCB's have finished production and have been shipped to vendors.
Jan 6th, 2020 - All vendors have received the PCB's. Cases are still finishing up being anodized, goal still remains to have them done and shipped to vendors before CNY. (~Jan. 25th)
Feb 15th, 2020 - Orders are currently preparing for shipping, some people have received tracking info already. Depending on region, order #/color, etc., the exact shipment date may differ. Please bare with us.
March 8th, 2020 - Cannonkeys extras on sale Saturday March 14th @ 10am EST.
April 3rd, 2020 - EU boards have been shipped to MYKB.
May 20th, 2020 - Cannonkeys and Yushakobo both 100% complete. Few replacements currently being sent out by MyKb.

I'v bought mine, blue grey. Initially I went for WK on the basis that a 40 needs every key available - but then I realized that a key point of identity of this board is that it's a WKL 40, so I changed my preference to WKL.

I suggest using a proxy like shopandship and choosing a US vendor (they underdeclare)

Else, whatever is the cheapest source, since shipping will be expensive to dubai anyways

GB started close to the autumnal equinox, and the board is roughly symmetric. But that's just me speculating.

That proto was supposed to be the ral 7016 but the fab that did this proto run made it quite a bit lighter than we wanted. We won't be using them for the group buy units and we have far more faith in who will be doing them to get the colors we are after.

I haven't bumped the thread when I post updates but I have been updating the 2nd post when I get them. I realize now that is a bit inconvenient for everyone so I will be sure to make a post as well when I have an update to give. Here is a couple quick pics as well for those that have missed the updates on either myself or ai's discords:

I think the Equinox will be a top staggered 40% keyboard among all other 40% designs.

There's pre-cut notches for the tabs which are inserted below the pcb on the bottom case.
