SA GEOMA | GB EXTENSION + FULFILLED MOQ


Firstly, thanks for your support with SA Geoma. We've been able to meet MOQ with 7/8 kits (🪦 rip Light Mods) with our vendor's assistance.
We'll be able to create all the molds we were originally planning to, with the exception of the custom alpha keys.

What does this mean?
- SA Geoma's first GB phase will NOT be cancelled.
- Light Mods WILL be cancelled. If you purchased this kit, you will receieve communication from your vendor on your options for refunds or order changes.
- SA Geoma will NOT have custom alphas like originally planned for price reduction. Renders are being re-done with the SA font. (the biggest differences are on "Q" and "M")

We understand many of your were expecting cancellation or GB extension, so we'll be re-opening the GB period from 13th Dec 2021 to 20th Dec 2021 so that you may put in your order!

Once again, thank you so much to those of you supporting Geoma, my wonderfully patient and flexible vendors, the assistance of all my friends to make this happen!

Splitting dark alphas into it's own base kit is in consideration. The 8008 deskmats are cool! However they weren't the inspiration behind the design.

This looks like the GMK Minimal x GMK Modern Dolch photo I saw on IG by ninjapirate9901.
Also the Deskmat looks inspired by Modern Dolch however I think your approach ist pretty nice and it is different enough.
It is a pretty nice combo and I like to see that combo happen, sadly it is SA but that is preference.

This ticks a lot of boxes for me with teal as an accent and uniform SA. As an ortho user, I don't mind the separate dark alphas, makes it cheaper if you don't care about the mods in the base kit.

I also like the idea to just using simple geometric shapes for the novelties, but don't really like the inclusion of the Valknut. It just has too much political baggage for me to have that on a board without context. Maybe the theme could be expanded/deepened by leaning on some more mathematical concepts, e.g. a series of keys with dot, line, square, cube or a Moebius strip, or the first iterations of the Koch snowflake (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koch_snowflake (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koch_snowflake)) or some other simple fractal (don't know how far you can go on a keycap with this).

Thank you very much for your kind feedback. I will certainly take this into consideration, as I was unaware of the political stigma behind that symbol. Moebius Strip and Koch Snowflake designs were made, though they proved a little loud for the design language of Geoma.

Yeah, I can see that. The Valknut has not been completely co-opted by white supremacists (depending on the local context, of course), but the association for me is unfortunately very strong.

I love the concept though and look forward to the GB!

This is so good, I love it! SA r3 is my favorite and this whole color way is just fantastic. Two things:
a) The IC form errors out for me?
b) Please consider adding either a 1.25 enter or a 1.25 novelty for those of us with dimple-layout boards :)

I feel you could get very close to those black and white RALs using stock Signature Plastic colors, if you go down that route to use them as a manu, which I believe you have to if you want uniform r3.

SP SA MOQs don't have to be high. They send a spreadsheet with MOQ starting at 10.


I do like this set but being a uniform profile, I think you could consolidate some kits, like the 40's and ortho. Both 40's ortho and staggered could get by with what's largely in the base plus a few extra keys. I'd check the 40's Discord if you need help or just send me a PM.

R3 and great colors and icons, I'm in on this for sure.

I second combining 40s with something, as the set stands right now it looks more attractive to just buy the base kit and make do, vs buy an addon kit that doesnt give much additional compat value. Also heads up that your ortho bars are marked as 1.75u but should be 2u.

The dark alphas are amazing. My interest in this set 100% hinges on mono legends though. E.g. . , / ; 1 2 etc. Like the SA Ice Cap mono legends kit. There are so few row 3 sets, I’m so excited for this. Legitimately the dark alphas are phenomenal.

Please keep it row 3 SA.

Love everything about it except that its uniform profile.  Make it sculpted and I'm in.

I'm quite new to the bespoke keyboard scene. This kit is just a culmination of my own personal tastes, and largely uninfluenced by other kits/deskmats in similar colourways. My main inspirations have been those in the KAT/KAM profile in terms of custom modifiers.

There is certainly a strong demand for a Dark base kit and adding dark alphas to the numpad. I'll definitely be looking to implement these suggestions in the near future.

I will be discussing with both Signature Plastics and MaxKey. Signature Plastics is my first choice, but manufacturing timeline, pricing for custom tooling, quality & finish will be factors in deciding on the final manufacturer.

I feel the same, I really like this. Just wanted to also voice my support for uniform SA. I use a non-standard layout and not having to worry about row profiles is a plus for any keyset. I also just really like the uniform feel, tbh. Hope this stays uniform. Putting the 40s/Ortho kits together and maybe adding a few ergo keys makes sense to me, though. Would definitely get a kit like that.

It really doesn't make sense OP chose SA profile and then an unique form?,  why don't chose Cherry, DSA and KAM profile then?

I'm not sure I follow, but SA row 3 has been around as a uniform profile for a long time. I like it because it is not as flat and short as DSA and I just like the look.

Some people like sculpted profiles, some people like flat profiles,  its just preference. To me,  SA represents sculpted profile.  For a flat profile, I would choose others, KAM Superusers is an example.

Personal preference. I designed the set as I wanted it with as few compromises as possible.

I'd like to have international coverage. I'm currently weight between the Light/Dark alphas whilst also having international coverage and keeping the kitting sleek. I'll be consolidating where possible, and eliminating some less popular combinations if need be.

I also support the R3 SA! I love my Laser SA set but i have to be mindful of the board i use it on due to the row config so this would work perfectly on my wonky ymdk96. I also love the white alphas!

Great update, imo. Thanks for switching in the trefoil knot, I think it fits the theme even better in its more typical representation. The new ortho/40s kit works fine for my purposes (ortho and col stagger)  :thumb:

Can you confirm whether mono legends are in or out? This set being row 3 means it greatly increases the compatibility for users, and a mono legends kit would open up that compatibility even more.

I am SO excited for this set. I've seen some hate in the thread for uniform, so I just want to voice support of uniform. Uniform profile + the beautiful accent color + ortho layout support make this set an instant buy for me. I'm so excited. (I know I said that at the beginning, but I'm still feeling it!)

Also, another commenter asked if you're looking into a cable collab. I would def be interested in something like that as well.

Good luck with IC and can't wait for GB!

I love the colors on this set and the legends are so cool too! Never seen a uniform SA set before either which is pretty neat.

Please add two 1.5u Super keys and a second 1u Alt key either to the base kit or an extension kit to add support for macOS 7u and HHKB layouts.

Unfortunately, I am in the same boat. The re-inclusion of the Valknut also made the novelties unappealing to me. I still love the colors, but the kits just don't work for me. GLWGB!

In some cases, the GB thread takes a while to get approved (i.e. in this case Oli (OP) didn't have enough prerequisite minimum posts), so there's no other thread in the meantime to discuss the GB. I've informed Oli to lock this topic once he has a GB thread up.
Anyways it's up to the OPs to do it and mods to enforce it. Given that it is a thankless task to police which IC threads should be closed/locked with how many GBs are going on these days, I don't think it's the biggest deal. Especially compared to people necroing old meme threads/ICs pointlessly and toxic comments.

I wish things like this were communicated. I can only imagine what other kind of things don't get communicated then ...

Best to discuss group buys in their GB threads.  I know this one wasn't up immediately, but neither SA Geoma's GB OP nor any of the vendors ever showed a dark NorDe kit.

With SA Geoma's primary objective to get a new open-source set of molds made for SA R3, we've decided to rework the kitting to be less segmented and have extended the GB December to January, with exact dates to be released upon vendor pricing confirmation.
In order to concentrate our sales for molding, we've decided set the colorway to our original selection and have also trimmed the kitting.

Yes, these molds will be open-source. If you are a keycap designer, these new modifier icon molds will be available for you to use on your Signature Plastics SA R3 colourways for free. If you like cheaper keycap sets, this is a great way to support future sets with bespoke icons.

We've had a slow start to our GB, but we're keen to bring things back and get this awesome set in your hands.

So, what are the changes?
- Light Alphas and Dark Modifiers have been merged into the Base Kit
- Dark Alphas and Light Modifiers have been removed
- Numpad, NorDeUK and Spacebar kits have been trimmed to match the Base Kit
- Ortho40s have been removed (extra moulds and high MOQs inflate the price of the entire set)

For those of you that had previously purchased any of the kits that have been modified or removed, you should receive an email from your vendor shortly with your options for refund or modifying your order.

Firstly, thanks for your support with SA Geoma. We've been able to meet MOQ with 7/8 kits (🪦 rip Light Mods) with our vendor's assistance.
We'll be able to create all the molds we were originally planning to, with the exception of the custom alpha keys.

What does this mean?
- SA Geoma's first GB phase will NOT be cancelled.
- Light Mods WILL be cancelled. If you purchased this kit, you will receieve communication from your vendor on your options for refunds or order changes.
- SA Geoma will NOT have custom alphas like originally planned for price reduction. Renders are being re-done with the SA font. (the biggest differences are on "Q" and "M")

We understand many of your were expecting cancellation or GB extension, so we'll be re-opening the GB period from 13th Dec 2021 to 20th Dec 2021 so that you may put in your order!
