Taihao has replied that
They do supply ISO enter and alps doubleshot keycaps!

Add-On pack including iso and tsagan along with a 1.75 shift is set, $4 as quoted from taihao

For alps keycaps, as they have 0 stock of alps keycaps
we can request any colour as long as we have 500 MOQ
Either from the colours that they have been mass producing (Generation 1-4)
or we can submit new colours for samples (higher cost i guess)

Will update here as soon as i got more info

Im just inquiring for alps at the same time!

This post is to check which colour u guys would like to have if we have a Taihao gb
As there are too many colours to choose, I would like to reduce the dilution of orders so that it will be easier for us to hit the MOQ
So try your best to choose maximum 6 colours of taihao that you would like to have from the poll
A this helps me to decide which colour we would choose to have in the gb

Taihao replied me that we can order the following special R1 keys from them as they have these moulds
The MOQ is 500, and  the price HAS BEEN CONFIRMED

For tsangan kit, the price is $2.5 with moq 500, including 2* 1.5x ctrl, 2* 1.5x alt, 2* 1x blank key, 1* 7x spacebar

Please be reminded that these add-on keys MOQ are independent from each colours

Even without language specific keys (so it'd only need 2 1x blanks, a 1.25x shift and the ISO enter) it would make the set far more attractive to the EU people on the forum.. Surely there must be as many if not more people wanting an ISO kit than tsangan?

Yeah I don't think they do the enter but it can't hurt to ask. Also if they were to get the mould made like they did with the 6.25x spacebar for the last group buy, surely it could only help them get more sales in the future?

The ISO kit would require a 1.25x shift key in row 1 profile, the same as zxcv (the TaiHao bottom row is a different profile to other OEM bottom rows and so isn't suitable for the zxcv row) as well as a 1x row 1 blank (same as any other 1x on the zxcv row) and a 1x row 2 key (same as asdf row keys).

Curious:  If they're making some of these sets already, they must be selling them somewhere.

And I assume it's not just to random people flogging them on Taobao.  I doubt there's the demand from any of those vendors to move a three-hundred-set MOQ.

This suggests somewhere in China, there are probably boards being sold STOCK with Dolch-style caps.  This intrigues me.

There wouldn't be much point to "stuffing the ballot box" on a poll like this. Unless you're willing to order as many sets as times you are voting, then getting a particular set up for GB that ultimately doesn't meet MOQ isn't doing you any good.

There was a previous GB that did this during the poll.

The OP noticed that the numbers were off and some people voted multiple times.

He had to restart the poll.

He then made it so you had to include your gh name.

He could then check the list for dupes.

The only problem us it doesn't stop people from creating a new name our using someone else's name to vote. You just hope most gh people wouldn't go through that much trouble.

If we can get Alps caps from Tai Hao I'd probably grab some of those as well. Pictures of the underside of shift and the spacebar so we can check stabilizer compatibility would be aces.

I'm pretty sure it is a complete set. I think the other keys may be stacked below the ones we see in each row. See the picture of the keyboard outfitted with them below the "rows" picture?

yes they do provides a whole set, its just a sample of the colours from a row of the sets
and my rows are regarding to the colour but not the number of keys

Although the sets are pretty cool to begin with, the bigger news here is ALPS.

There are no good options for new ALPS caps, and hunting down bits and pieces from old boards get frustrating fast.  You see a lot of wishing and complaining for group buys, and they rarely, if ever, succeed.  This is a very feasible product.  In fact, I think it could be better than the possibility of going a SP group buy because Tai Hao's limited offerings will keep the choices limited.

However, I worry it could go horribly wrong-- too many choices would lead to big problems.  Either nothing comes close enough to MOQ, or the group ends up having to buy a bunch of unwanted sets to meet MOQ, raising the price per unit.

Here's a thought-- a "rolling group buy".

We do one poll to decide two or three of the most popular colours, then do a group buy on them.  This focuses everyone on a small number of choices, and increases the odds of hitting MOQ.

Then in a couple months, we do it again-- new vote, new GB.  If demand for a colour scheme is satisfied in the first round, then it won't win the second round poll, letting people who wanted a different colour scheme get their day.  Conversely, if it turns out that some schemes are "perenniallly popular", they'll appear cycle after cycle.  Geekhackers NEVER get tired of Dolch
