[GB] 6060 - 60% WKL gasket mount hybrid
« on: Tue, 02 November 2021, 10:19:13 »
Hello keyboard peeps, we've concluded the IC's for the 6060 and we're now launching the GB!!!

Just for those who havent seen the IC posts the 6060 is a WKL layout gasket hybrid that can use universal 60% plates and left sided PCBs!

Our philosophy behind this keyboard design was to provide a reasonably priced gasket mount WKL. We also realised that one issue with gasket mounts is that it's not always the easiest to experiment with different plate & switch options, as the plate has to be specifically designed to fit the keyboard. Hence, we added removable standoffs to our design, so you can swap in your trusty traymount PCB-plate-switch assemblies easily.

After carefully listening to your feedback, we have made a few design changes/improvements, please see the image below for the new design we've decided to go with:

    Changes made:

-Reduced the size of both of the logos
-Removed the ring around the logos
-Centred the back logo as it was of axis ever so slightly
-Changed the position on the screw holes on the plate to align with the bottom better
-Added the logo to the plate

Mounting system and how it works:

As mentioned this is a gasket mount keyboard however you can use tray mount with this keyboard, the way we can achieve this is by adding screw holes in the standard PCB screw position, below is a render on how the whole things works:

Thanks for reading and good luck!!
