Community Switch Tester
« on: Tue, 20 December 2016, 10:42:48 »
Hey everybody! I've had an idea and would like y'all's input.

What if we made a community switch tester that could be mailed around to people to try out new switches? My thought is to have a board with 5 keys of each switch type (All the Cherries, Topres, ALPS, Buckling Spring(?), Maybe Matias & Gateron, etc.) My thought would be to put the 5 keys of each switch in a layout like WASD and E keys. This way you could get a decent feel for each switch.

My thought would be to pick someone who could build it and have people pitch in sending switches to them. After it's finished it could be passed around the community with each person paying the last person shipping costs. It'd make it a lot easier for people to decide what switch to get.

Obviously the main problem with the idea is someone stealing it, so I'd like thoughts on ways to prevent that.

What y'all think?
