Yes, do not worry. There have been 2 rounds of E6-v2 and a E7 run since then and they all went very smoothly! E8 was not run directly thru exclusive, and all the others were. As long as he handles it all, do not worry

If you look at the layout from the OP, for WK with block layout, you can build:

1.25 | 1.25 | 1.25 | 6.25 | 1.25 | 1.25

or

1.5 | 1 | 1.5 | 7 | 1.5

as the bottom row.

Only longer keys need a stab, so the 6.25u and the 7u. the other keys do not require stabilizers.

Anything 2u and above in keysize will have the opportunity to utilise a stabiliser. The standard stabiliser wire sizes are 2U, 6.25, 7u. The less common is 6U, though findable; your very less common sizes will be anything in between those.

A standard 60% keyboard will use a total of 5 stabilisers - four 2U and one 6.25u. It's used with the space bar, two shift keys, your enter/return and the backspace.


Keys with extra holes will utilise stabilisers. The image below shows the common sizes:



How many you would use is dependent on your layout of choice and up to you, ones preference. It can be none at all to your general set of 8 on a full-size standard keyboard or more stabilisers as you peak into custom builds on your keyboard adventures.
