:/ okay dude with 50 posts... Legitmacy... right.

Don't take it personally, man. It's Dox's project, not your project. I'm happy you're getting the ball rolling but the thread looked pretty unofficial until Dox weighed in.
and whats wrong with unofficial have you seen how were ordering the original dox?

I'd strongly suggest you contact Dox and ic07 before proceeding with this GB [...] I'd like some input before I pony up.

Called out for what? For doing a mass order of parts? LOL

This was green lighted from the second I started it because any interested party in the project may purchase their own parts, why wouldn't they be?

/end of thread derailment

Maybe argue over PM and keep it out the thread full stop?  Be nicer with the new guys, we were all new once.

Honestly after Dox's weighing in has there been any discussion in consolidating this buy with the official buy? Is there going to be an official buy?

Cheers,
To my knowledge DOX was going to do this the same way that he did the DOX which is everyone orders their own stuff of if a group a people want the same thing (because the DOX was so easily changeable) they could order together which is what me and 2 others are doing with our latest rendition of the DOX. Truthfully I dont think anything has to be official, once DOX it done making the case start up a groubuy.

OK well in the original GH thread that wasn't my understanding. But maybe I'm wrong; I'll have to go back and check it out.

well if you find out otherwise let me know.

I just want to get cheap parts for this amazing keyboard project, only reason I'm doing this. Just want to give back to the project a little since Dox and others (including you OJ) put so much work into it.

The main ErgoDox thread on Deskthority is this one:

http://deskthority.net/workshop-f7/split-ergonomic-keyboard-project-t1753.html

not sure if you were looking for a parts-GB-specific thread on DT, I'm not aware of one...

I'm extremely happy to stumble on this thread, and that Dox has weighed in. Like indescribably excited.
Also has there been a thread mirroring this one made on deskthority? Or at least some way to direct all those people here? Seems like a good way to increase volume.

I'd be interested in the electronics minus switches.  I don't need a case or keycaps.

I would like to do blank PBTs but WASD seems like the easiest way to go for the custom layout we'll need.

It would be handy if we could get WASD to do a single-click set (like the 104-key ANSI set, etc) that we could get customized the same way.

That's what I mean... a set that you could semi-customize, like with his current keycap sets.  http://www.wasdkeyboards.com/index.php/104-key-cherry-mx-keycap-set.html
Like that, where we could pick a color, layout, engraving, etc. without having to do individual caps.

We're talking serious money here, unless you want to incorporate and become an entity with limited liability going through a third party will ensure all parties are covered.

Not that I don't trust you, it's for our protection as well as yours.

So you agree that going through them for kits would work best for everyone?

Group buys with lots of tedious sorting seem like especially good candidates for Massdrop.  I know of two gotchas that might be issues though.  Everyone who participates in the buy will need an account at massdrop.com.  And you have to pay at the time you order, at either the first price tier or the tier the buy is currently at (not sure which).  You get refunded the difference later on if the buy reaches a higher tier.

Filled in the form in the OP, but just wanted to register my interest here as well.

Question: will this group buy include the diodes?

Also, I know it has been mentioned, but a group buy for blank keycaps would be wonderful.
Wish I had some gif or quote for this space, but I got nothing
