Packing sucks.

But it will all be over soon - then you have to unpack

And then try to find things.

I am still looking for some things that got "lost" when we moved more than a year ago.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Were you aware before starting to pack, or did you discover how much you have when you tried to find boxes to put it all in?

Well after I boxed up about the 10th keyboard, a large box of crap bag caps and a very large box of random bits and pieces, I ran out of packing tape, then looked around and realized I was only getting started.

this ebay auction is sort of bothering me, not sure why. I guess having a popular youtube channel has some nice advantages.

Being third tier (end of the line) support for my company, this never stops users from jumping over tier 1 and 2 to try and get direct support.

I'm on a conference call with the door closed?? Yes, please feel free to knock and ask me whatever you want.

My knee.

My left knee is starting to get this strange tightness in it. I'm still not sure what I'm doing that triggers it...

...I really need to get back in shape...

Thanks for the offer dude. But I checked the price it would cost someone in the US to send them to me and it would only be like $7 cheaper, so I just went ahead and ordered them anyway.

But thanks :)

Going into academia isn't that bad!

My dad is an accounting professor at a university here and he loves his job.

Depends entirely on the university and the program.  Some of them get really political (within the department, not conservative v liberal) with a ton of bull****, especially if you don't exactly agree with the theories that the inside group in the department ascribe to.  I left grad school after my M.A. because I was tired of the bull****, the posturing, the ass kissing, and everything else.  Academia is where ideas go to die...unless your idea conforms to the ideas and theories that most of the people in your department ascribe to.  Unless you know you're going to love it, it's an apolitical department, and/or your drive can overcome the bullshot, stay far far away from grad school.

If you can't tell, I'm still bitter.

Anyways, I'm sure you'll figure something out jaemzp.  No matter how futile you think your degree is, I'm sure you'll find something worthwhile to do.

Thanks for the support guys, I study computer engineering and I've always wanted to take a different route.. not academia, as I feel as though I would drift away from what I believe engineering is about.. solving real world problems. That is quite true what you said nubbs I never actually realised how childish it actually is, and thanks for the kind words. Anyway, that's what's bothering me. my crotch gets too cold when cycling in winter. three years ago everything was fine.
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

No friends?

It's almost impossible to make friends if you are single and 30+.

it's always possible to make friends, and you are exactly 30.

also, 'murica is a country of possibilities etc etc, you can start anything over at 60+ etc etc.

also, get a cab and bring that trinitron to your place already.
