I read the thread, but not sure if this was posted down the line... Why not just add Certificates of Authenticity into the mix? For all future clacks, individually number them, and have a matching certificate to go along with them. Whenever the key changes hand, so does the certificate. CC could even get one of those paper stamps in the shape of a skull to mark it and authenticate the certificate lol. Just my $0.02

That wouldn't be a perfect solution -- but it would at least make life harder for the forger, or forgers. If a Classified post reads: "Clack for Sale, no certificate." ... that makes it that much easier for the buyer to beware. But forging a certificate is also possible (and probably easier than a keycap) but again, there's no perfect solution. What would be the least tedious solution for CF himself? I figure just an engraving on the bottom edge, dip it in ink, and then stamp the edge onto a certificate. They have to match, and each one is little bit different. But wow, tedious ****. Just flay forgers alive instead, but dammit they're not in NYC.

The easy solution would be for CC to just stop making clacks

Of course I hope he does not do this but who could blame him.

If we keep fighting over them like this, then what reason does he have to continue making them? :o

I must admit though, that does look amazing and I wish they all existed :)  Not that I'd ever be able to get them all, but that would probably be the coolest Clack collection to display on a board.

What. The person with the blue translucent fake CC =/= OP. He's (Bro Caps) saying the guy deciding to keep his "CC" has a fake one, not the poster.

And what evidence do you have that it is a fake? I posted my gummyrot skull on a blue LED and it looks exactly like it.

And you know it's fake how?

Look at the green on the bottom where that bright-ass blue LED isn't shining directly through.

Just a thought, maybe he meant the OP of the pic?

People need to think before they type more, ffs.

Y'all are jumping to conclusions...

It's clearly a gummyrot skull on a blue LED, as was already pointed out. If you look at that pic you can see the green hue around the edges of the cap (the parts that are the least illuminated).

No need for rustled jimmies, now. It's kind of like when a string of murders happen in your neighborhood. You start suspecting everyone! :P

Yeah, during page 1 of this thread, I ran and checked all my Clacks.  I actually started to sweat.  Which is ridiculous.  But true.  Now I'm just glad I haven't been rooked by any fakes.
I ♥ Click Clack.  I ♥♥♥ Bro Caps.

That's my Clack, and it's Gummyrot Skull directly from Elitekeybords.com, it's a real one, a Gummyrot green translucent key, on my Poker2 Blue LED light…
It has a rectangular FXE Stamp on the back of it. I am making a video of the key on board, with LED on then switching on and of and different level of brightness of the LED,
and then taking it off and showing the back of the key of it… but my camera focus poorly…… you can see clearly there is marking on the back of the key,
just difficult to recognize the full characters.

Will post the link of the video, if anyone are interested, may see the video, it's around 100mb, gonna take sometime with our local broadband service.
Currently Using:
HHKB Pro2 Black with Pink blank keycaps
Topre Realforce 10th Anniversary 2nd Batch "Silent" Varied Weight force.

So far I've only traded w well known members. I've had offers from others but it was risky enough before, now that there's fakes.. Definitely sticking to well known members.

If you're Asian, you're it!
korean or asian!
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

I'm pretty spooked too. I mean I was always kind of a paranoid person, but this is the last straw. During page 1 of this thread, I ran and had all of my children and living relatives DNA tested to make sure that they're actually related to me and not part of some conspiracy. I've been standing out on the curb all morning throwing rocks into the air to make sure the sky actually exists and isn't some kind of force-field or large projection. Pedestrians think I'm crazy but they could easily be in on it. As far as I'm concerned you're all suspects.

And did all of the rocks come back down?

Is gravity still working as it should, or have they adjusted it?
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
