Has someone tried these cheapo SA relegendables?
« on: Tue, 19 March 2019, 05:17:32 »
Since I saw this project, I am quite intrigued by these relegendable SA keys:

The only thing holding me back is the price of 2$ per cap on Pimpmykeyboard.com.
Now I’ve found these on eBay:

Has someone tried these? Are they of similar quality or are they perhaps even the same as the ones sold on Pimpmykeyboard? I also wonder if the inner white part is translucent to the backlight.

It's been a while since I had those caps but I believe they have a slightly larger stem than regular mx style switches.

I've seen those before, from what I gather the switches are pretty decent, but the keycap stems are just slightly too large to work with MX switches,I've been tempted to pick up a few and try to file/sand the stems down.

Edit- Saw this post on Reddit- https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/comments/b34t6c/i_did_another_thing/ ,from what he said the switches are clones of vintage SMK linears and the caps don't fit his MX switches.
