Cherry Stabilizer wire
« on: Fri, 09 August 2013, 11:43:15 »
Hey, anyone know any good online supplier of the correct thickness and strength of the cherry stab wire.  I'm missing a few so I figured I'd bend them myself, but I can't find good wire for it at home depot or lowes.  Anyone have a advice on this?

Check out Litster's video. I know it says Costar but Cherry is just the two bends on the ends instead of the 4 bends total.

Description:

"How to make a Costar spacebar stabilizer bar by hand. You need a Du-Bro E/Z Bender (0-90 degrees and Z bend). Wire need to be 3/64 inch music wire that you can find at hobby shops. I found the ones I use at Hobby Town USA. It is called K&S Precision Metals Stock # 502 0.047 Music Wire (1.19mm)."

Costar uses much thinner wire than Cherry stabs do.

I used brass 1/16 wires I found at a local hobby/art store, for my cherry stabilizers.

Thanks all.  Yeah I'll take a look around a hobby store here, when I get a chance.

I know this is very old, but what length does the wire have to be at the bend for a 2u wire? Also, how do you bend brass and do you have any links?
