$544 for a keyboard has less than 12 points or less than 3mm on the surface exposed are considered as normal condition.. hm.. and this not even a large GB. What a massive pain at QCing!

will it have the same problem of switches touching the weight and actuating a few keys at the same time and the other problems or were they fixed for phase ?

I thought the Physix was a bit underwhelming as a board, especially given the price. I had a lot of the same complaints as JYMV, especially with the cheap design of the internal weight. I ended up just keeping the plastic wrap on it, but that felt like such a compromise for a board that I paid nearly $700 shipped.

I also didn't find the mounting system particularly good or bad. Someone could have told me it was top mounted and I would have believed them.

Basically, the board is "fine", but for $700, I expected more than "fine".

I reviewed the issues raised.
There are two phenomena where multiple keys are entered together.
It is caused by a short of the main MCU and a short of the switch leg.

If there is no problem with the main MCU, it is very likely a switch problem.
There are many types of switches.
Which switch did you put together?

I removed the internal weight right after assembling. It is the worst design in the Physics and I don't think that LZ should keep it in Phase.
The flat surface of the internal weight provide a lot of resonance which make Physics sound much worse compared to other LZ boards.

Anyway, after replacing the weight with a sound dampened foam, I am quite happy with the result.

I did the same actually. Physix is my favorite keeb for daily use and I've never missed the internal weight. Sounds great with 2mm foam.

Maybe the weight for the Phase should be thinner, even if just at the center row where switches are more likely to touch the weight given flex in the plate.

#. Change the defult inner plate (STS to ALU)
--> Included in all alu kit orders (except pc kits).
and
Add a replacement test sample plate (Brass,Finshed Electroless Nickel Plating)
This is for a typing test, and the finish is not good.
Brass typing feels good (extremely personal).
Total inner plate 2 type (Alu, Brass)

Did you try soldering the leds with the legs the other way around?

I did this with my PhysiX and it did the charm.

This is why I always just solder in sip sockets. That and swapping out colors.

FYI for led:

(+) = long leg
(-) = short leg

huh. Not sure why but I've never considered sip sockets for LEDs. That's a big brain move

yes, you are right. there are circle and square pads for different legs on the pcb. thanks! learnt to test the led with the pads before soldering, there is also led cutouts on the top shell so i used 2 3mm led and it fits perfectly
