I have a kind of... peculiar request for one of you guys. I found a pretty good WYSE set on eBay, but most of my money is tied up, so I don't feel totally comfortable buying it right now. If one of you could buy it and then ship it to me, I'll knock the price off your end result invoice. I'd prefer it be someone I've dealt with before, but beggars can't be choosers. I understand it's kind of a weird request, but worst case scenario I'll just end up color matching to litster's pictures.

Here's another idea.  I send you one of my WYSE keysets I already have if you want EDIT: for you to keep.  I have the full keyboard or just the keys alone EDIT: for you to keep.  I've cleaned the keyboards and keys.  We can work something out if you want a set EDIT: for you to keep.  The keyboards are model # 840338-09.

EDIT: I should have been more clear!  :peace:

That's generous!

I'm interested in the WYSE set that Quarzac saw on ebay. Is it okay if I buy that? I'll be very happy to keep it if this deal goes through, and if not, I'll be happy to send it off to Quarzac.

If it's the same one, the seller has something like 18 boards, so I'd say go right ahead.

Any confusion was cleared up. Also, I ended up making it to the bank, so I bought my own WYSE set. Thanks for the offers though! I should have colors matched soonish.

If everyone doubled there order you can reach 75. And would be paying $1 more for 2 sets compared to 1.

Just to be clear, this buy will close on Friday. I was going to close it on Sunday, but I made plans this weekend, and I want to spend what time I do have preparing to ship and collect money. Sorry, folk. Also, in the event that 25 orders are not reached, the addon kit will be dropped. Again, sorry, but I don't think SP will produce less than 25 orders, and even if they would, I don't want to have to get new price quotes and run them by people only to inevitably have people drop because of the higher price, and thus reduce the orders more so.

I heard that before on another keycap group buy thread!  :-)  And it is true!

If you have seen the KMAC's aluminum cases, Wyse with moogle kit would look very good it, especially with the titanium anodized case.  It would be a very industrial look.

You would need the 1.5 addon kit and a Phantom with PHANSI or PHISO layout, or the base kit plus a Filco tenkeyless, and of course an aluminum case from Swede.

Should we take a pole?  Majority rule.  Everyone get double your order for another buck or possibly loose Add-on set entirely?

I have a WYSE set and an SP color ring.  If we haven't yet decided on colors I can take some pictures.

Likewise. But WHICH Wyse are we talking about here?  I pulled the keycaps off of my old wy50. They look great on my camp Filco TKL, but the modifier keycaps don't fit. These are all BROWNISH tones. I understand that some WYSE boards had grey tones. I do not want gray.

Alright, so after checking out the picture of the color wheel and litster's pictures, I could only really settle on BFU for the text. Can someone with a color wheel and a wyse set try to match the dark grey?

Brown?  I thought WYSE sets were grey.  Mine look grey and dark grey to me.  I haven't cleaned them though.

Sorry, I forgot I said I would do this.  Will do it in a bit and post in the thread.  Captain should probably do the same since he's concerned about the colors.

Experts: Is there more than one WYSE color scheme, or is it just a matter of aging and yellowing?

I've already double down

Everyone else, just do it instead of saying you will do it when everyone does it, which basically is a endless cycle. It will reach the 75 set mark but if everyone does nothing but talk it won't happen, simple as that

I think there is only one Wyse color scheme.  For a moogle kit, most (all?) of the keys in the kit we will make will be in the darker modifier color, which is not affected by yellowing as much as the lighter number and alpha keys.

Brownish, not grayish. Compare the black and white of the new Filco keys for color balance.

What are the SP color codes these will be in?  Shouldn't that be in the OP??  ;-)

BTW, isn't the Filco space bar 6x, not 6.25x?

Or his white balance is off.

Below is a picture of original yellowed keys (top) and oxycleaned keys (bottom) with a Whitebal card in shot.  You can use your favorite photo editing software and get it to white balance correctly using the whitebal card in the picture.

With Wyse, unless you have a NIB copy, you are not going to get 100% color match because most used caps are yellowed to different degrees.  But, you can see your set's original order if you look under the cap, where the ABS plastic didn't get any UV exposure.
