What is your most prized possession?
« on: Sat, 20 October 2012, 15:41:21 »
This thread is about showing all GH members what geeky item of yours you love the most.
It can be anything from keyboards, a single keycap or a nice camera. The only thing is that it have to be computer/techy associated.
I think this thread will be great

I'm starting.
This is NIB, never used. I got it from korea with help from my friend huttala. I love this because it remind me of my teenage when I played counter-strike at high level. Also it is no longer available and it is the most beautiful thing in the world.  :p

Not sure if this counts, but after thinking about it pretty much all the hardware bar the keycaps on my keyboard are pretty easy to replace.. so the only things I really prize thats 'geeky' is my Kojima/MGS collection that I've slowly amassed...

I think that I'd have to go with my logitech g5v2. It's not expensive or rare, but the nostalgia value on this one item is much greater than any other. I've been using it for the past 5 years or so; it has gone with me through my wow days, and still continues to travel with me whenever I go back home from school.

I originally got it as a gift from my friend when I helped him build his first computer. Right now he's being plagued with the G500 problems, and I feel pretty bad for him as my g5v2 is still functioning perfectly after all these years. Too bad the g5 is discontinued... I'll be really sad the day that it dies out on me.

I would have to say my wacom tablet is my most prized geeky possession. It's definitely a great escape to be able to draw for hours, and its helped me pay for school lately ^^

We need photos to make things more interesting.

I don't think I've ever seen a drawing pad that isn't a photo taken by manufacturer :P

Am I the only one who can't narrow it down to one or two items?

I love all of my tech possessions obviously, because if I didn't I wouldn't have them!

Thank you!! I really want to start buying some more keycaps for it, maybe some of those really nice pastel rainbow sets that I've seen floating around ^^

Don't you enjoy some more than others? Or just feel like you couldn't live without some day to day?

I suppose there are some that I value less than others.

If I really really reeaalllly had to choose I'd go with my Galaxy Note and MX Revolution. They're both on par and I would be devastated if anything happened to either.

The mouse has been with me for 5 years now and still going strong, and the fact that it's no longer manufactured means once this one dies, I'll pay out of the ass for an exact replacement or just not get one.

The Note I got at release last November. Best handheld device I've ever personally owned. I've never felt discontent with it at all, and I feel no need to get a Note II as it's in pristine condition and does what I need it to.

Oh yes my MX Revolution too... I would kill the universe if it dies. Best mouse ever made, wish logitech would release a proper 2.0 version. The only thing that really could be improved is the sensor, and have it charge with mini usb instead of that stupid cradle that you have to finesse to start the charging.

There we go! I LOVE my MX Revolution too! I bought the keyboard/mouse combo a couple years back, but I won't let go of this mouse. The new version just isn't the same from what I've read. And the Note is a nice phone. I bought one for my mother for mother's day. If they made that phone as a Nexus, I wouldn't hesitate for a second. But I will never buy a phone that isn't a Nexus device, so...

Another MX Revolution owner? Fantastic.

I will cry the day it dies. I made mine a touch personalized by replacing the green LEDs with blue ones. It was a neat little project to see the inner workings of the mouse too.

The weight, overall contour and feel, and of course the numerous functions you can use is incredible.

What do you have everything set up for?

The thumbwheel is for media, the Search button is for F5, and the forward and backward buttons for the thumb are for forward and back for webpages/filebrowser etc. Scroll wheel is set to free-spin past a certain speed.

God I love the clutch in this scroll wheel.

edit: TWO? I knew there would be some faithful users here.

Revolution confirmed greatest wireless mouse ever.

Yes, I modded mine. I wanted to replace the green led with white, but I couldn't get at that part. Stripped the smallest screw I have ever seen so I couldn't get that part out.

I have all my buttons set up the exact same.
It's ergonomic perfection to me.
