No experience here, but that scroll wheel looks like it might be easier to access than the one on the CST was.  Just visual observation though.

maybe, it kind of reminds me of the kensington expert. I emailed the seller asking if its opto-mechanical or optical. It mentions usb and ps/2 so I am not sure, but I bet its opto-mechanical.

I think there are some Japanese members here, maybe they will help and translate.
As for the metal ball, I don't know. It almost has a Transformers look to it.

Interesting that the site mentions nothing about manufacturer or model numbers. Gives the impression that they are trying to flog off some "cheapo" model to us ignorant westerners. :p

Well someone already bought it.  I hope that someone was a geekhack member then we may get a review. That track ball does look very interesting.
