[IC] GMK BlauGrau (Blue-Grey) New Kits Posted!

Before I get to renders, I wanted to mention something. I found out earlier today that Candykeys is running a colorway that's kinda similar to this (GMK Apollo). I've been working on this for almost 2 months, and they've been working on their set for a while as well, and neither of the parties involved knew about the others set before hand 

Update 12/23: More new Base Kit/Spacebar Kit Mockups!





The idea for this set is Blue-Grey, thats it. No Accents, just Blue-Grey. Not having accents will allow me to add ISO support into the base, and should keep the spacebar kit nice and cheap (or allow me to add very basic 40's support into it).

Thanks to my friend 159, we have a real world analog of what the set will look like, using WS2 as the color for the legends.



And here are some renders on boards! Thanks to Yuktsi and 159 for the models of the 910, Sirius, and Kendo.







I'm open to feedback, but I don't intend to stray too crazy far from this idea.

I don't want to rush this set to GB and end up with something that fails to hit MOQ, if this runs, ya'll will know!

No accents is kinda disappointing. I wonder if the majority of buyers prefer ISO over having accents. Probability not.

A nice complimentary blue accent and the a secondary accent like pinked or red or maybe yellow?  and this would be amazing, like a blue version of dolche

On the subject of ISO support, you have almost complete ISO UK but are missing the '@ key on R3 (this mistake was made in GMK Olivia and almost made it into GMK Merlin). Any chance that could be added?

I've noticed the ISO part looks like it's one row too far down, but I think that's a result of the other mods being a row too far up (r1 of extra keys in line with r4 0 and 00).

Minor detail that I doubt would confuse many, but just thought I'd raise it

I really like the simplicity of this set, but some sort of accents would be nice in a seperate kit, dont know about novelties tho since it is so simple
btw the name of this set is German so there has to be a German kit or at least Norde kit or anything right? would happily join

I like this a lot better than GMK Denim, and I also don’t think accents are necessary. If you were to add accents though, I’d suggest white.

I messed around with the idea of a white alphas kit, and personally I believe that it strays too far from my original ideas for the set, so that will most likely not be happening. I will play around with different mod types a bit however.

From what I've seen so far, about 1/4th or 25% of the base kit sales have added numpad as a purchase

I will not be removing numpad from base, as from all the times I've seen if you still price it at 250 MOQ, it makes it significantly more expensive for people who *do* want the numpad, as opposed to barely more expensive for people who don't. My goal for this set is to be affordable for all, and removing numpad from base will go against that idea.

A NorDe kit would be good, though.

(Speaking of which: What bothers me with GMK NorDe kits, are all the tertiary legends (especially in the number row). Not only do I find them ugly, I also usually reprogram these to key combinations that are easier to reach. But I guess that's how the molds are and is not easy to change?)

As a numpad user, I much appreciate that line of thinking. It would be nice if GMK's setup allowed splitting without consequence, but their per-kit flat costs have more impact on the price now more than ever with set costs going so low. Good news is we have sets like Camping and Crimson Cadet showing that you can have low prices with numpads in your custom color sets, and overall the trend seems to be acceptably low pricing for sets with numpads, based on what I've seen looking back a few months.

But I really really want this set. And i don't even like blue for keycaps. I'm not joking. This is just the correct color combo for a blue set. It's the right one.

To be honest, GMK Denim looks whack (not good) on the OCO website.
In person, it's really really nice. It's been on my Jane since I got it and hasn't come off.

Agreed! I sat out of the GB because of that. I think the legends in the renders look way more yellow than they do in real life. So happy I could grab an extra, it’s easily a top three set for me

Colorwise, Denim is great -- but I passed on it (and continue to pass on it) due to the novelty accent enter key -- would have preferred a regular gold/brown enter accent.
