Can Model M2 keycaps fit on old Model M ?

Simple question, anyone with both a Model M and a M2 can check if they keycaps are interchangeable?
M2 Keys seem lower fore sure but can they be used in original M?

Big mistake by IBM.
Stems may "work" but heights are all wrong.
