The Toxic set [taking orders]
« Reply #200 on: Sat, 22 December 2012, 14:04:07 »
What is the likelihood of this GB being doubleshot PBTs from SP? Has there been any communication with SP about the feasibility since they released those arrow key sets?
It isn't very likely to happen for awhile so I removed it from the original post.

Will they be dyesub PBT?

You can't dyesub light colours on dark ones (in this case toxic green on dark grey)

Updated the order quantities, hit a bunch of new price tiers. One order for 15 looked like it got submitted twice within 7 seconds so I erased the duplicate and emailed the creator just in case it was intentional.

I'm setting up a new Windows PC, and went to download Microsoft Security Essentials.

It seems to me that the colour scheme for the page header on the download page is very close to Toxic.

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Form Filled. Does the standard set come with the non toxic stripe? as I cant see an option separately for the non toxic stripe.

In for a Standard set
The Modifier set
The ISO set
And the numpad set

Form filled, if not too late it would be cool if a 1x Q-row key with legend for "-", and a blank number row key could be added to the numpad kit.

Doubt it would change price but does allow for g80-1800 compatibility...

We were aiming for 1800 compatibility, the mock-up for the numpad doesn't have all the keys located in the appropriate rows, are we literally missing a key or is it just not where you expected it? When I submit the order it will just be the key, and the profile only with the pictures as reference for general appearance.

Currently sometime end of January, beginning of Feb.

6.2x is used with 1.25x mods on most normal boards today (Das, Ducky, Cooler Master, Corsair, Steelseries, Filco, Leopold!(except FC500), etc.) while 7x is normally used with 1.5x mods on custom boards and maybe some vintage ones.

Someone correct me pls :)

is it possible to add front print to the print screen (should be sys rq in the front) and pause (should be break) in the front?

shouldn't be too expensive and makes the sets look MUCH better.

also, since this is getting different mods, u should make sure it all matches unlike the valetine set that had 2 different pause and pause/break

Needs a 1x "-" key for the QWER row, and a 1x "Pause / Break" key for the number row

See my earlier post;

Anyways, it shows the g80-1800 numpad layout.

Doh!  Of course it is. ::)
Just the "-" would be off profile. Don't know if others would support having the right one though

Of course I would like to have all the keys fit 1800 profile, but I don't expect that to happen by forcing other people to pay for them.

To make a set fit all keys on an 1800 with the correct profile, you need 6 additional keys, only 1 of which (the 1x 0) is shared by any other common keyboard
-bottom row 1x 0 key
-asdf row 1x +
-qwer row 1x -
-num/fun row 1x Delete
-num/fun row 1x End
-num/fun row 1x Page Down

Back with CCnG we only got the 1x 0 as a proper key and the other 5 were wrong profile or didn't exist at all in the case of the + key. It doesn't look the best this way, but it could be worse.

So in summary, what is included in the base kit & num pad kit will fit an 1800 as it exists today. It will just have the 5 keys in the wrong profile (+, -, Delete, End, Page Down)

If we want to fix the profiles as well then, that likely should be its own option to order. I'm probably going to run an order in the spring anyways for a CCnG & WYSE 1800/FLYNN kits  ;D , so if we don't solve the profile problem here, my GB will included this for Toxic as well

If we only need a limited number of these keys for a couple people I can ask if SP can cut us a deal. I have absolutely no idea if they would do something like that, but considering what this group buy is going to cost it *might* be possible.

PS: who can help me get an 1800 board *wink wink nudge nudge*
