Currently SP uses WYSE legends for the fonts on their keycaps.  Toxic will be paying the remaining amount for Cherry style legends.

There is work being done on them atm.  There is a charity auction going on atm and donations for the project is coming soon.  It will be worthwhile to wait for the legends.

I just want to be clear that Cherry legends are not a done deal for this set.  danielucf and I did discuss the possibility of using this group buy to finish paying for the legends and having it be the first Cherry replica set, but we by no means came to a decision that that's what would happen.

After the first replica GB is over, the legends will be open to anyone who wants to use them.

Mkawa has already announced this.  It will be Poly (Translucent) Orange on White, and White on Poly or Orange

That is a pretty crazy color combo, maybe we can do both around the same time, Toxic can start collecting money a couple weeks after the first set submits the fully paid order to SP perhaps. Maybe I should put a poll up to wait or use WYSE legends, but I personally strongly feel it will be worth the wait for Cherry legends.

I'll second that vote.  CCoG/GoCC is putting a major crimp in my disposable keyboard income.   

Not to mention the GH60 GB and all the associated parts - cases, switches, cables, etc.  Wallet-hack, indeed! 

(And I'd still like to buy the Sindarin set, if it ever comes to fruition... I'm hopeless.)

Hello everyone, there's been some activity wrt Cherry legends, as you've probably noticed in other threads.  i3oilermaker has been helping me polish and standardize the legends.  The alpha and function SVGs are now ready to go.  Boiler is working on finishing the number row now, and I'm on the tenkey and navcluster keys.  Our goal is to have them all ready by the end of the week.

We currently have 83 legends left to cut for the standard 104 set.  I have $3270 in my Paypal.  So that leaves 83 x $45 - $3270 = $465 left to raise, at a bare minimum.  We'll also need $300 to get a full proof set made, and probably a few recuts of individual keys.  All in all I think $1000 will be enough to make this finally happen.  There are a couple of funding efforts going currently, plus the Red Cherry GB extras which I will put up for sale shortly.

The plan is to get all the SVGs ready, then deliver them to SP in one batch for cutting.  We'll get a single prototype set made for proofing and make any adjustments necessary.  Then we'll be good to go for the first replica GB.  After the first GB, I'll let Melissa know that anyone is free to use these legends.  Including other forums, including vendors.  I'll also post the SVGs at that point.

Wouldn't it benefit the majority of participants to have the center stemmed capslock right in the base set?

I'm not sure since i don't own that many keyboards yet - but my impression is that most newer ones have center capslock.

Oh i see, it's probably only the stepped one defaulting to off-center.
