For EU buyers:
In the past two weeks I have been in discussion with GMK, MassDrop and few EU members and whilst I am trying for a better solution for EU customers, I'd like to clarify a few things. From my understanding, the gripe EU buyers have with MassDrop is the 30% DUTY+TAX they have to pay and the higher shipping costs. First thing first, we can't deny that bulk of the orders are from US, so a shipment from GMK is bound to go to the US. Now the difference in shipping cost of a EU proxy handling shipping vs MassDrop is minimal if any, because MassDrop get volume discount from USPS. Now regarding the 30%,  GMK has informed me that if they were to ship within the EU, then they will have to put a 20% VAT on the base price (Which we are used to seeing from GMK). This leaves 10% price difference which is just about offset by the extra shipping costs GMK will charge for shipping part of the consignment to EU. I hope this brings things more into perspective that in the current state of things, EU buyers aren't really getting that bad a deal and would agree that extra efforts for a EU "warehouse"/proxy are really not worth it.
UPDATE:I have confirmed with multiple parties that when receiving keycaps from GMK in US, they pay little to nominal (~0.5%) in taxes/duties in EU. The shipping prices MassDrop gets for the international shipping is about the same as an individual would get while shipping within EU. The 10% difference of if the keycaps were shipped within EU vs from US is pretty much offset by the extra split shipping from GMK.

So, EU guys sorry, the 20%/30% taxes imposed by the government are to be blamed, so relax and buy from MassDrop.

Some excellent color comparison shots by nubbinator

Ok, pics.  I flipped them so you wouldn't be biased by already knowing the color and so you could get a closer approximation of the original color.  I also feel the shadowing on the flipped caps gives you a better idea of the color.  Colors may still be a little off, but I tried to be as accurate as possible.

I believe CCnG had the same color for the legends on the alphas and the mod base. This would not be the case here.

Well, if you want to be color accurate, it should be grey, not beige/cream.

I would love grey.  Feels like with Ivan's PBT and EnjoyPBT there is no shortage of green on beige/white right now.  I also feel the pastel AE mods don't go well with the deep green N7 legends but that wouldn't stop me from joining.  I'd just use them separately.

I feel like only the left hand mods should be green and also have a gradient to them, as this kinda looks like a nicer cream cheese...

so I you had tab as AE and then caps, shift ctrl etc as N7 with an AE back space it would match the original set more, no?

3K is the closer color, L9 just looks off.  3K with N7 legends is probably the closest on the Alphas and AE with CP or 3K legends the closest for the mods.

You could also do a hybrid buy in line with some of the sets and do ABS mods with PBT alphas.

If we're going cream, I'd still rather see 3B get made first.

Most likely would go with 3K then if that is what is closer to the original.

Regarding the hybrid buy, we could do one like the Bluegaloo, but my concern is over mixed materials, PBT for alphas and ABS for mods. Although that would be closer to most of the sets out there :))

so I you had tab as AE and then caps, shift ctrl etc as N7 with an AE back space it would match the original set more, no?
It's an inspired set, not a reproduction ;P

But yes, if we go for a mods only set, then surely we could incorporate the three keys in N7.

fair enough, I did have an original set of these caps and imo the coolest thing was the two tone mods on one side rather than all around, but thats just me :P

I think there are so many fans love the AE Green color set.

There is BUT it's the overall design that shall draw in those crowds, especially if you want to totally mimic the original AE Green Set.

You need careful design of these sets like the SKIDATA Set, making sure to make a direct copy but also adding vital extras for those who need them.

I agree though that Grey might be a better choice, I think it would look nice with the Green on Grey alphas and Grey on Lime for mods.

Will be going with 3K for the alpha base and CP for legends on mods.

I'm starting to lean towards mods only. Maybe split the mods and alphas.

Edit: I just used the Triumph Adler mockup and edited it Photoshop. If you mean that particular style, GMK provides those.

I have a keyset from a TA Royal Beta 9000D typewriter. It has brown on white legends (some are tripleshot w/ turqoise side print) and white on turquoise mods.

I was hoping someone would come around w/ another TA set.

I think it should come with a secondary legend, dark green for the main and lime for the sub. Also, should have some accent key in dark green too, like enter, spacebar, Ecs, num Enter,...

I had a set like that in all ABS, but the stems were breaking left and right, so I tossed it.  I still have the hybrid PBT/ABS set, but the all ABS set was cool.

N7 on 3K looks a lot better for alphas IMO.  If you want U9, just get an OG Cherry set or Gaterons.  Both TA Blue and green have a sexy warm grey midway between 3K and 2B, but closer to 3K that, IMO, looks nicer with AE.

I agree that 3K alphas look nicer with AE mods, but I think AE mods don't really go well with N7 legends in the first place.  I'd rather have N7 on 3K/U9 for alphas and modifiers with a splash of C9 on AE for Enter and Esc.  This would be more thematically consistent with the original colorway, IMHO.

I reluctantly submit that having inverted/high-contrast alphas vs mods seems to be more popular, which is always important for a GMK GB.

That's some good ****. Only suggestion I would have is maybe green on white for the alphas instead of the cream. I personally prefer the cream look, but white would give them more cross-set compatibility.

I don't think anyone was asking for N7 on AE mods.  The most accurate to OG is CP on AE, maybe a CP on N7 accent or two.

And since people are discussing the OG, I'm going off OG coloring as I own the set this is following and a GMK color ring.  We don't have to try and emulate the OG, but the OG has dyesub legends close in color to N7 on the alphas with the cap being a warm grey between 3K and 2B and closer to 3K.  I can take comparison shots tonight.  U9 is nowhere near the color and, IMO, looks terrible with AE.

I'd love to see some comparison shots :) the real question is if this is going to be before or after the manly unicorn :3

Doomed to fail unless a CODE key is included.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I need to PM Bunny about Manly Unicorn again.  Since he was wanting to run it through JTK, I think I'll stick with that since it will be cheaper and give us more compatibility options.

I'll probably regret saying this if it happens, but I'd be willing to be the US/NA distributor for this set if it doesn't go MD and someone else handles the money, I just don't want to collect the money and it appears MOZ doesn't want to either.

I think that's pretty much a given.  An N7 and AE, of course.

Off to take pics now.

Can't wait to see the pictures! If any of this goes down after I graduate in May I would be happy to help in anyway I can! Even handling the money :D I really want to see this set get off the ground. I absolutely love the colorway.

Ok, pics.  I flipped them so you wouldn't be biased by already knowing the color and so you could get a closer approximation of the original color.  I also feel the shadowing on the flipped caps gives you a better idea of the color.  Colors may still be a little off, but I tried to be as accurate as possible.

I like this one. Please consider to add more keys, such as dark green esc, enter, and spacebar. :thumb:

U9 looks way off. L9 is good, as well as CP.

L9 has far too much yellow.  3K is still the closest, IMO, though it's really a color between 3K and 2B and closer to 3K.

The main reason I'm very vocally against L9 is because is it's the same color as the OG Cherry Alphas that are a dime a dozen.  I have thin lasered PBT and GMK AE mods from EK on my keyboard at work and there's not much difference between that and L9 with N7 legends.  3K is a far less common color and looks very good and it makes sense to me to have something that will have a little more contrast and is less common while still looking good.
