i hope another round of these can be done! i was silly not to order one when I had the chance :(

Same here, hopefully there will be a second round with a possible v2.0 of the board.

Actually, since you missed the post 2-3 replies before you, there have already been two rounds, and a third one is in IC phase here: https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=74524.0

On the KBP, you're able to press Alt+Enter to enable arrow keys on the Shift, ctrl, win, func keys. Are you able to make the TMK firmware do the same thing?

yes, i think it is possible.

More
Use ACTION_LAYER_MODS(1, MOD_LALT) for the Alt key to 'change to layer1'  with keeping modifier function(Alt).
Then on layer1 define Enter key as 'toggle layer2'. And on layer2 you can define the cursor keys.

This is Poker X like keymap for GH60, in this keymap you can toggle cursor keys with Fn+Space. I think you can refer it as a start point.

It's possible but there is no LED on the TMK PCB so you can't tell if the the arrow key layer is activated. One solution is to use dual role keys like this https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=41685.0. I now like dual role more than the KBP design.

BlueNalgene's GB starts now.
You can get my assembled Alps 60% PCB with plate and switches from the GB.
https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=75491.0

This GB is organized in US and the itmes are shipped from there, this will makes shipping cost lower for paticipants in the country. Shipping cost seems to be not decided, though.

As for Firmware Build on Windows:
People have had some problems of building firmware on Windows. People on Windows tend to use WinAVR and this is definitely a cause.

Problems are:
1) WinAVR may not work on newer Windows like Win8 and Win10.
2) Alps64 PCB has ATmega32u2 as controller but WinAVR doesn't support it.

You have to update some files of WinAVR to compile it on those OS's.
http://deskthority.net/workshop-f7/tmk-keyboard-firmware-collection-t4478-180.html#p260436

WinAVR is very handy all-in-one package but too old. I reccomend to move to newer toolchain like Atmel's GCC and Cygwin(MinGW) for other command line tools.
https://github.com/tmk/tmk_keyboard/blob/master/doc/build.md

I'll setup keymap editor for Alps64 PCB later, so if you are frustrated much at these things you can just wait for the editor. With the editor you can make your keymap easily with mouse, it will be useful enough unless you want complex keymap. Not that you sitll have to compile firmware yourself to use full features of TMK.
This is editor for HHKB, for example.

I'd part with four PCBs out of leftover PCBs for BlueNalgene's GB.
It costs $37 for PCB and $10 for shippping, $47USD in total.

PM me if you like to grab one.

Currently no leftover I can part with.

I'll have to keep rest of leftover to backup failure and incident on BlueNalgene's GB for some months.

Solder mask is originally a liquid that is applied to the PCB and then let to cure. It looks like droplets formed at the bottom of the PCB, nothing to be worried about.

I also don't think it is critical damage but not sure what happens.
Screwed down too tight? or I think your case is KBP V60, so the PCB does not perfectly fit inside?

Do you mean this could be a damage caused by the case? I don't see exactly how the case can cause this damage but I also don't remember seeing this the last time I took apart my keyboard.

An update on case compatibility. I tried putting my TMK Alps64 with V60 plate in my friend's Pok3r metal case. Other than being a little loose (V60 plate is slightly smaller than Poker), I don't see any other problems.

Program Controller
To enter program mode hook up to USB port and push button on bottom of PCB.

Could more information regarding the keymapping be added to the OP? For example:

How exactly do you program the 2nd layer, you push the botton on the PCB, then what?

What is the default layer toggle key?

What are default key mappings for arrow keys, etc.?

Thanks!

The firmware is well documented on the github repository: https://github.com/tmk/tmk_keyboard
The Alps cover 65% of Switzerland's surface area (41,285 km²), making it one of the most alpine countries. Despite the fact that Switzerland covers only 14% of the Alps total area (192,753 km²),[2][3] many alpine four-thousanders (48 of 82) are located in the Swiss Alps and practically all of the remaining few are within 20 km of the country's border.

Ignore the keys your board does not have.

Download DFU Flip programmer from ATMEL.

Here is my keymap.hex - http://bit.ly/1PzN6BW

For anyone else about to make their own keymap.hex file and flash their firmware, make sure you select "ATmega32U2" under Device Selection in ATMel FLIP. Works perfectly.

That user would be me! I was able to put the keyboard into programming mode, but FLIP is giving me the error "AtLibUsbDfu.dll not found." I have selected the ATmega32U2 device (originally we thought maybe it was ATmega32U4, but I get the same error there as well.)

You probably have wrong driver on the device(ATmega32U2), remove current driver and re-install one FLIP provides from DeviceManager of WIndows. This can happen often when you turns the controller into program(flash/bootloader) mode before installing FLIP.

Yeah it fit fine, not sure if you mean diodes or something on pcb would be in the way. I never screwed it down cause I do not have screws yet though. I will get some in and let you know. Here is a pic, not screwed in though.

Currently you cannot edit Fn actions on keymapeditor.

But codes is available(how generous tmk is!) and you can edit around here to change actions.

EDIT: I was just joking if it was not clear. don't look into these keymapeditor code unless you have plenty time to kill. It is not so organized as always, not whothwhile to hack. You better build firmware from soruce, instead.

Yo, anyone have any of these they are willing to part with? I've been out of the keyboard game for a while and I'm sad to see I never got in on any of these. Or is there perhaps another round in the works?
