Fair enough, but at least place a "next week wednesday there'll be a sale" thred, or it'll slip us past :P

Yeah, SP's stabilized keys can be pretty loose.  Just place a small piece of plastic or paper over the holes before you push the inserts in.  That'll keep them nice and tight.

That's an excellent idea, i'll do that when I get home.

Got mine, they look fabulous! Sadly, one of my blue Alts has a small hairline crack along most of the surface. Wish it had been on the yellow one where the blinding color might have distracted me more from it. Sigh.

The Red escape is way better than the generic red one that came with my Leopold, although the sprue mark on the front is hardly ideal. I got two of the faux reds and put the less egregious sprue offender on my keyboard where it's hardly noticeable. Below: Topre, faux Cherry Red, "free EK Red".

Thanks Hashbaz for putting this all together.

I've been real scarce lately (two deaths in the family, bought a "new" vehicle, work's been hell) but I got a nice surprise in the mail today.  Took the time to spiff up my Filco with my new RGBYs.  They look great!  and no more WINDOWS!

Now I just have to decide if I want to keep it all black or go full on old school, as I also received recently my beige/grey caps...  decisions decisions.  There's worse problems to have.  But first I have to pull the flywheel cover on this @#$% Jeep and find out if I have a real problem or not.  I do have to say that I like this RGBY set even better than the previous RGBs that I had - the extra effort in the font really paid off.
Filco Majestouch-2 with Cherry Corp. doubleshot keys - Leopold Tenkeyless Tactile Force with Wyse doubleshots - Silicon Graphics 9500900 - WASD V1 - IBM Model M 52G9658 - Noppoo Choc Pro with Cherry lasered PBT keycaps - Wyse 900866-01 - Cherry G80-8200LPBUS/07 - Dell AT101W - several Cherry G81s (future doubleshot donors) (order of current preference) (dang I have too many keyboards, I really only need two)

Got mine Hashbaz! They're really excellent! Is it just me or are SP modifiers thicker than their escapes? Either way, it's great. I especially like the texture on the shifts. It's now my favourite key feel, even over my beloved PBT!

My yellow keys are noticeably off, but I can certainly live with it. I compared them to my "real" cherry shifts, and they match up really well! I think this'll be a fixture on my keyboards for quite some time.

Bytheway, my WASD setup now looks really similar to the 'board in your avatar. I have a blank key from WASD for my capslock, and used cherry doubleshots

I'm wondering if there should've been a blank beige/black key on for the 'Menu'. For the people without Moogle Kits anyway.

Huh. I have not 1 but 2 vintage cherry doubleshot un-stepped capslocks now. The thought of used doubleshots kinda grosses me out. I only use new from 99hk. I just wish my red esc would come sometime soon...

I already turned down a $20 offer for the second capslock I just got yesterday. But he bought 58 of the other keys on the board from me. (Some) of the relegendables, and the brown switches are still up for sale. I also sold the rest of my black moogle 2.

So overall it's been a good day for me, except for the red esc...

If you ask me the capslock is one of those attainable keys that really pulls the board together. Unlike the nearly unattainable genuine red esc.

Finally got my keys today! Everything seems to be looking good except for one thing...

I think i may have gotten a bad left ansi shift. it wont fit onto my filco properly. When i put the key in, it would stay depressed =/

edit: same with the left ctrl key. It seems like the left side of the keys are too long.

This has happened to me before, usually when I mess up hooking the white inserts to the stabilizer wire ... are you sure you have it seated properly?  Does it still stay depressed if you don't connect the stabilizers?

Yes, i've made sure that the stabilizers are in the correct way. The ctrl and shift keys stay depressed even without the stabilizers. It seems to only be the left keys that are causing the problem, the right side is fine.

Perhaps i should file off a little bit of the left keys so that it would fit better?

Try swapping the left and right control keys to see if the problem persists. Doesn't sound like a keycap issue though. Hm.

Same results. The keys are causing friction with the keyboard case.

It's not the keys I had a filco like this as well. Some people shave the side of the keys to make it work though I have never done it. SP keys fit fine on my new filco though. Do you have another board to test it on?

Fairly common problem with the top half of the tenkeyless Filco case. In my experience, firmly pushing on the left edge of the housing from the inside out (from right to left) realigns it just enough for the keys to stop sticking.

If I remember correctly these keys used the .018" cutter and are too small/less bold. And the moogle 2 used a .02" cutter and were too big/too bold. Does that mean we need a .019" cutter for future cherry font keys? Or a metric cutter between .018" and .02"?

I just noticed I got post #666... Is that a sign?...

Yeah I believe you're right on the cutter widths IIRC.  It's also my understanding that there's no cutter width in between .018 and .02.  IMO these legends are good enough for future moogle/RGB rounds.

Only if everyone agrees that .018" is closer to actual cherry than .02". Or if everyone likes the look of .018" better than .02". So you're saying that they don't even have a metric cutter between .018" and .02"? Afterall cherry is based in Germany so they would use a metric cutter right?

I'm camping for a week, and moving twice in a month. I'll get back to you when I can (If I don't then just send me another PM).
