This one's pretty simple: I LOVE the "locking" caps lock switches found on older Apple keybaords and the like. IIRC cherry still makes a locking MX switch too.

Why have they gone out of style?

It just seems more intuitive for a toggle switch to lock into place, right?

well, if you use a switch like that for caps lock, you can't swap it with any other switch - I think some people like to swap it with Ctrl for various purposes.

Yeah but only 0.0001% of keyboard users would even do that. It's a statistical fact.

You could still swap it by desoldering the 2 switches. But I prefer LED's to the lock action. If you use capslock for keybinds in games, the lock gets in the way.

wouldn't it be useful for crouch/run toggle or w/e?

I'm starting to see where it could get annoying in games though.

Oh well, it was just a thought.
