[IC] GMK Nord (GB June 10th)

Novelty kit does a pretty bad job at covering Tsangan/HHKB layouts. No 1.5u Alt keys, no 1u OS keys, no R3 1.75u Ctrl. Can't say I've seen people use 1.5u OS keys very often, so I'm not sure why those are there.

Some of that weirdness is in the base kit, too. 1.5u Super keys? Two 1u Meta keys? Why the focus on 1.5u OS keys?

Also interested in HHKB layout and a bit lost as to what I'd have to buy to cover

I think you’re looking at around 10 month wait right now with GMK.

That's because having all the colors would drive up manufacturing costs a whole bunch. in the IC, I said that only 2 or 3 colors would be chosen based on ic responses. Those colors were purple and blue for the stripe.

Blue stripe would have been nice. But I don't see that available anywhere...

Gtrx, there's an omission in your base kit. You included a second 1u Ctrl instead of a second 1u Alt. This means that Mac and some HHKB users won't be able to cover their bottom rows correctly (it requires 2× 1.5u Super and 2× 1u Alt), unless they use Meta keys. It's still not too late to fix this mistake, though; you will likely be able to talk to GMK to have the second 1u Ctrl key replaced with 1u Alt (without altering the quotes, since the number of keys stays the same and all key sizes stay the same).

Edit: To be clear, it's not like the second 1u Ctrl is useful to begin with. No modern ≥60% layouts use two 1u Ctrl keys.

Edit: Found them! For anyone else who missed, you need to click on "Nord are you waiting for?" on the homepage which gives you the option to select caps, deskmats, or artisans. Hope this helps.

Thanks, yeah I see it's purple and dark. However I thought it was supposed to be blue instead of dark?

I'm going to toss my hat in with the artisan complaints. I was very interested in getting these to go with Dots, but with the purple on the far end of lavender and the blue being replaced with "dark", that's a no go. I just feel like those are possibly the two weakest color options, and will either look out of place or get lost amid the full set.

What happened with the artisans? These are a big disappoint after what I was expecting. The original colors were vibrant and had good color options. Then on release we get 2 dull, muted options.
