Best way of hitting spacebar?

I use dvorak and I think that using left hands for hitting spacebar is the perfect cause dvorak is mostly using right hand

I would say that the best way of hitting the spacebar is not to hit it.

I use 1u space keys, and I don't hit them because they are already positioned where my thumbs are and my fingers move very little.

Don't know if it's the best way of hitting it, but i usually use my right thumb exclusively, but that's mainly muscle memory, i cant seem to use my left thumb efficiently.

I guess ergonomically speaking the best way to hit the spacebar would be to alternate between the right and left thumb so that one hand doesnt get more use than the other, but ever since ive started using the keyboard ive always used the right thumb, so using anything else seems a bit forced.  Ive noticed on my abs spacebars that I tend to hit the bar a little right of center (between the 'b' and 'n' keys).

I'm still pressing space you know! Just not using a spacebar. Since I have a custom layout my thumbs are always where the space keys are and don't need to hit.

I saw a guy just using both his index fingers to type on the bus to school. It actually kind of surprises me how many people aren't that efficient on a keyboard. Guess my generation kind of grew up in a tech bloom, so I shouldn't complain too much

Surprisingly she was efficient with it. Typing at least 40+ words a minute.

But with just a couple of improvements she probably could double that...
