Keybaord with a Multitouch Wack...err...Trackpad
« on: Mon, 26 January 2009, 09:57:24 »
I wasn't too sure whether to post this in the keyboard forum or here, but since this product seems to be more focused on the pointing rather than typing, I am putting it here:

http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/26/visenta-v1-multitouch-wireless-keyboard-gets-the-hands-on-treatm/

Essentially, this is a keyboard with a multitouch trackpad.  There's not much more to say.

Thanks, and have a nice day.

Now they should explain why the trackpad is so small and the space around it is wasted with 10 useless Vista Media Center buttons.

And I'm not saying anything about the key feel, it looks like a regular scissor-switch keyboard.

Don't like.

The touchpad is probably small to keep the costs down.

I think this would be more interesting if the trackpad were a standalone device.  Cramming it on to a keyboard might save space and contribute to portability for the HTPC or laptop sector, but IMO, it compromises the usefulness of both the trackpad and the keyboard.
