The icon kit is very nice (and I might get an additional one to complement my older OG keycap set). That said... how about icons for the rest of the keys in the nav cluster? (Insert, Delete, Home, End, Page Up, Page Down... and... Print Screen, Scroll lock and Pause as well)

I dream of having a keyboard with no legends on mod keys (except for F1..F12, obviously). This would be a great chance to standardize the icons generally used - look at Ellipse's F77 project for a great example of this.

Another half-nutty idea: given that there's already the expectation of high sales AND some international versions (Korean) have already been asked about...

Could the base kit be separated into "alphas only" and "mods only" halves? So, for example, if I wanted the... Tartessian runic alphas instead of the regular US English layout, I could buy the the "alphas kit" for that one and the "mods kit" and not have a bunch of unused alphas.

I know it is NOT a viable option for kits with "relatively low" sales numbers, but could it be arranged for a larger amount (like Oblivion was, and like this R3 is expected to be)?

It would drive the cost per kit up quite significantly. Not just that, a lot of people have been expecting an R3 to get their first full kit of 9009.

Aside, what the heck are Tartessian Runic alphas?

Nice! I would LOVE to see some sub legends! I would be 100% for that!

Korean beige on NK. Picked up a set cause of this

I already have a set coming for my current GMK 9009 set haha

Would like to have a Korean JP option. With the popularity of Serika, I am surprised that JP subs are not an option. I have the Topre EPBT JP set on my hhkb and I love it.

God bless

That's kind of the point. I always hear "this would drive up the cost per kit", but I have no idea about actual numbers on this. What if the price increase for this option for this particular GB turns out to be... (let me get a number out of my ass here)... say, 6 bucks? Would that qualify as too much, for the added flexibility it would imply?

Aside, what the heck are Tartessian Runic alphas?

It was just an example of "some other" non-English alphas set, to avoid using real ones (Korean, Japanese, etc.) in the strictly theoretical question.

(where was my set of Shavian keycaps, anyway?  )

It is a substantial amount usually when you split, because that means even more sorting has to be done. That is what costs so much. Sorting all these individual kits since GMK actually puts them in trays and doesn't just throw them in bags. To get a full base kit, with every little thing separated would be WAY more than just having what we have here.

I personally think the new centered icon legends are a great improvement. Not even sure why people would prefer the other icon legends since consistency can only improve aesthetics.

A helluva lot more than 6 bucks. To give you an idea, a separate alpha kit with number row goes for around $60. A separate TKL mods kit goes for about $80. A full standard 145 keys GMK base kit goes for about $130. By chopping up, you pay $10 more and you lose a numpad. That's how bad it is.

Well, that is indeed a substantial difference. Thanks!

One day, when sales numbers have sustainedly gone high enough, we'll be able to separate base kits into alphas and mods. One day...

I see a minivan backspace, but no minivan enter key in the 40s? i.e. 1.5u R3. Would also like to see R4 1.75 Lock key, though that being less necessary.

I see a 1.25U R3 Enter key and that makes ME happy. :-D

Now, if I could have a 1.25U R1 Backtab key, and 1.75U R1 Backspace key and a 1.75U (stepped) R2 Tab key... I would be happier (but I don't expect this to actually happen).

There's only a Black on Beige enter , not accent (aka Red and Green) enters in that kit

There's a single ISO Enter key in the additionals kit. UP is probably talking about ISO Enter keys in red and green.

I am happy to see this! However, if I was an ISO user I'd be pretty bummed. Accent Escape/Enter is such a big part of what makes 9009 imo, so to miss out on that would be a  major disappointment. Especially because it's in a child kit as is, not weighing down the base.

I am also not in love with the reworked legends. But it's not a dealbreaker or anything like that.

It's 9009 though, so I'm sure it will do well.

I'm reviewing over this and think that it might be a dimple backspace to match the 125 enter leaving the minivan entirely absent which is likely intentional. So, nevermind. If you did add Minivan support I would be delighted but not heartbroken if that's not something that is under consideration.

Can you please add the ISO UK 2 and 3 to the addition kit. Not sure why you make poor changes to a set that broke records as one of the most popular of all time.

Edit: You also have not included any green or red accent enter so you may as well just remove ISO altogether.

Edit 2: Just seen there is a 2nd B key for Alice users (all 10 of them), but no full ISO UK support. What a joke.

This kit also includes a second b key for split keyboards

Can we let this meme die already? It's only the alice and knock offs who use this, but even then, the amount of people who would use both B's are probably less than five. Every oddity key always has to be defended, but this one is included by default. It's borderline offensive.

That ISO support is a joke imo. Please include the coloured ISO enter (red/green) as it's what makes the set what it is IMO. Also proper ISO-UK legends would be greatly appreciated too, they're in a separate kit so shouldn't really affect the base kit price.

Ah, yours as well? :( Mine too :P But, not to an extent that I can't use it anymore luckily :)

Feedback on the R5 / open question to 40% users. How will R5 be on a 40%? My first thought was "that's going to hurt your thumbs like a mad man". I'm no experienced 40% user so I'm not the right person to have an opinion about this, just something I'm wondering and putting on the table.
