I've seen people take springs from one switch and put it into a switch in the same family, but I'm wondering if it's possible to take springs from something like Matias switches and put them into Cherry switches. I didn't find much on the topic when googling.

I've read the Alps switch springs are significantly smaller than Cherry springs. My hunch is that they simply wouldn't fit properly inside of a Cherry switch.
Is there something specific about the force curve of the Matias switch that you like, or are you just generally curious?

The two types of springs are very different sizes, so it doesn’t make much sense to swap them.
What effect, exactly, are you looking for?
-
I'm just generally curious if it was possible. I'd never heard of anyone trying it. I didn't know if that's cause it's not possible or if cherry switches were so much more popular.

Nope, it wouldn’t work.
