My advice:Get your P3 to 512MB of RAM. Clock it up a bit if possible in your configuration.Install Windows XP. Don't like how it looks? Too bad, use Classic.Install Office 2007 and WordPerfect Office X3.All your ridiculous problems = solved.
He actually has a thinkcentre with 2 GB of RAM, 3.2 Ghz P4 and XP. But I didn't say that :tinfoil3:
If he's ****ing around with considerably outdated and practically useless productivity software - which is hardly productive anymore anyway - it's almost certainly not to run on a more current rig.I'm all for getting the most out of older hardware, but FFS don't cripple yourself with software that can't handle modern files.
You should buy Microsoft Word. American software > Canadian software.
It would only be fitting that Microsoft Windows use Microsoft Word. Embrace the monopoly. Pay the price. Save third world countries from mosquitoes.
Whoa, who said anything about buying?
OK, we seriously don't expect Microsot Windows to actually buy anything. Maybe dumpster diving would be more appropriate.
I'm not trying to make a big deal. I've just got 17 out of the 18 floppies for Wordperfect, and wouldn't mind a complete set.
I just downloaded wp 6 for dos and installed it on my xp netbook. I took several classes in Junior high on wp 5.1. I wonder if i can remember all the hotkeys.....
There's a WordPerfect 5.1 For Dummies book somewhere in this house.Counter intuitive DOS software is why certain people in the generation above me in this family can't be bothered to try their hand at computers again. It's surprisingly difficult to communicate the fact that virtually nothing is the same from the user's perspective.
