Lone Wolf and Cub
« on: Wed, 19 February 2014, 11:06:00 »

i am watching these now and i am just loving them. Shogun Assassin has been a favorite of mine since i was quite little but it doesnt have **** on the original series it was created from. Although its dubbing and music were amazing.

These movies make me feel like a kid again. they make me feel like i am breaking some kind of rule to watch them. i am 30 for god's sake. so good. it has everything a man child could want in a film.

-Gratuitous violence? Check!
-Nudity? Check!
-Weird sex scenes that make everyone awkward? Check!
-Unnecessary breast feeding scenes? Check!
-Badass sword fights? Check!
-Additional serving of violence? Check!
-Set in Edo Japan with Samurai, Ronin, Geisha, Ninjas, and really angry Japanese officials that yell talk? Check!

any other Lone Wolf and Cub lovers out there? have you seen the TV show of it? have you read the manga? discuss.

Yep, it's good stuff. You should check out the Hanzo the Razor trilogy too.

Imagine a master samurai with baby carrier having a sword fight.

Hanzo is straight Pinky Violence.  I will check those out after i am done with the Lone Wolf and Cub series.  I loved 'Sex and Fury' so i may love Hanzo.

love the blood on this series. so thick, red, and the sprays are amazing. Babycart in Peril (i think) starts off with a sweet topless fight and the blood splatter on the tattooed titties is amazing.

i really made this post so others will try out this series. it is magnificent. just because something is from the 70s doesnt mean it is lame. hell these movies are way worse than most tarantino flicks today in regards to violence and blood.  for being as silly as it is it is also fairly accurate of late edo japan in terms of tech, clothing, etc.  the manga even more so.

i also downloaded the first three volumes of the manga on my nexus 7 and i am looking forward to reading them, though i may purchase them in paperback form since my nexus is so small.

what i really want is to be able to watch the 1970s TV series from japan. i cant seem to find it anywhere even on torrents. i see it on amazon though....

I think I read some of this manga a long time ago.
The baby carriage would make Macgyver proud.

rule number 1 of Lone Wolf and Cub:

1. never ever ever ever ever challenge Ogami Itto to a duel/sword fight.

Yep, Lone Wolf and Cub's one of my fave, I've seen six of its series, dunno how many there are actually. Another good one is The Zatoichi Darkness is his Ally (2004), it has just as much gore, nudity and gratuitous violence as Lone Wolf and Cub.
