Greetings to you, the lucky finder of this keyset. After more than two years, we finally meet again
(I shake you warmly by the hand). Once again, my factory is open for visitors, so please go ahead and
come to taste the new flavours produced in our German facilities!

Released almost two years ago, SA Chocolatier was the first keycap set that I’ve ever made. Inspired by the
chocolate wrappers of the 2005 motion picture adaptation of Roald Dahl’s masterpiece, Charlie and the
Chocolate Factory, GMK Chocolatier is the second iteration of this set.

Also, wouldn't it just be cheaper to drop the wonka keys, 1 tab, and 1 shift and include all keys in one set instead of these high MOQ small sets? I don't think the answer is clear cut and I don't speak for Zamb, but here is my stab at it:
Base set provides layout coverage so those keys definitely belong there.
For Novelties being a separate kit from the Base kit, I don't think it's wrong.  Although in retrospect, you make a good point since it looks like most buyers of the Base kit are also getting the Novelties.
Spacebars definitely should be a separate kit.

Personally, I'd probably get 2 x Base + 1 x Novelties, so I'd prefer the current kit breakdown.

Not a good idea. The Core for this set must provide basic coverage for everyone and the second tab helps a lot with usability. Now, instead of having a second 2.25U shift for just the 660, it can be used with an HHKB (or a fullsize keyboard if the person that bought the set is using it with an HHKB, provided with the novelties kit).

This look like a dud tbh, I think brown is people least favorite colors. I've looked back at this over and over again trying to tell myself I like this set but I still don't, any cool theme artisan accessory theme you guys are thinking of to go with this? I wish Zambumon did SB or NN before this.

It's been three weeks since Chocolatier's GB started and with around a week and a half left to order the set, here is how the numbers look like:

Over the course of the last week we've received a good amount of orders, which is impressive since week two and three are usually the ones where orders slow down dramatically and almost freeze. Like I mentioned on my previous update, there's still a long stretch for the MOQs, but I'm confident that we'll reach the goals.

I honestly don't understand how sets like Susuwatari can easily get 1000 orders, and this is struggling to even reach MOQ. This is not to say Susuwatari looks bad, because it's a nice set (especially in monochrome), but this is way more unique and interesting. And all of the really interesting stuff have been already stripped away (like blue/yellow arrows cluster) to bring the price down even more.

Anyhow, is there a chance to prolong final order day by at least 10 days more (like it was the case with SP Royalty that in the end succeded)?

Or, maybe start a new GB with more realistically set MOQ (probably 150 units)?

Stock colors have MOQ of 150 but this set is unworkable under stock tbh

If a set doesn't reach MOQ, the GB runner will usually plead with GMK and ask them if they'll still run it.
If they say no then your money will get refunded.
90% sure this set will make it though with the help of proxies helping out

Some time ago I was buying Topre keycaps directly from Japan and customs tax was almost as high as the keycaps itself. European bureaucracy monster is ridiculous.

Honestly didn't expect that. So EU orders take up only about 10%? Do you have any explanation why us Europeans are such wimps?

it's not about being wimps, it's that there aren't many buyers and the ones that are interested in this hobby and specifically such keysets in the EU are mostly rather young (yes I know you who reads this right now isn't but a lot are, a few polls in the past showed that). 200 euro is a lot of money for a 16-20 year old to hand over for a keyset.

for evidence, check any GB that had a iso kit, nordic sets are mostly <100 if it cracks a 100 then its a very large buy... base vs nordic is 10-20x.

My 2 cents - Zambumon, This is an awesome set that I also really wanted to get, but couldn't as the price was high. It adds shipping as well. Understandably GMK is expensive. But more folks could buy/enjoy this if we broke it down into smaller kits and/or went with a different manufacturer. Hope you take this into account, and we would really like you to make this kit available to more customers, and also not limiting the kit on the novelties that it deserves.

That's not how GMK works, at least when you aren't working with very large MOQs. Splitting the set in more kits would make it more expensive. The current core kit was 145 USD, which is more than a reasonable price considering its compatibility.

In my honest opinion, at the moment none other manufacturer has such as good QC as GMK, and that is reflected on the price. This is why we almost never see people with missing keycaps or needing a replacement.

1. Payments were sent to GMK about two or three weeks ago, and we are should be on track for the estimated shipping date.

2. Today I received blue color samples for the set. We already had the alphas and mods, so this was the last color to lock. All colors are spot on with the specified colors.

Received my caps yesterday and got it mounted on my FC660c, the colors definitely improved from the SA run. One of the best executions of a GMK set with custom colors and I can finally give Solarized Dark some rest
