Any "fix" to the sound that drilled stabs make on an HHKB?
« on: Mon, 14 January 2019, 21:38:00 »
I recently got an HHKB BT aftermarket. The previous owner drilled some pretty bad stab holes (no offense if you read this, you know it is true) so there is a slight echo on the left shift and enter. Is there something that I can put over the holes or in the case?

It is not a horrible sound, but it is there.

I know that there is not a good fix. Just looking for something to muffle the sound.

Thanks

EDIT: I just realized that I have not superlubed the stabs. I think that is part of the problem.

Step 1: Throw it away.

+1, Holes in the HHKB stabs really makes them sound terrible. You can try some sort of tape or foam to cover it, but cant think of anything else that can restore it to its former glory.

Yeah, it was such a good deal I had to get it. I am enjoying it for the most part. I had some small, thin, bumpons laying around. I placed them over it and it sounds a bit better.

If you're just looking to plug the holes Sugru should work.
