(Subjective) Whats your Favorite Switch of the Month
« on: Sun, 24 September 2017, 21:14:44 »
Simple Question that don't think has ever been asked ((Searching the forum I couldn't find any one asking before)). Whats your favorite switch right now and why?

Personally I love Gateron Blacks they feel smoother then cherry mx blacks. They do have a hint more wobble then the Cherry's do but that ok.  There a tad lighter then cherry blacks/Clears making them less fatigue inducing to me. There also quiet being linear switch. I just enjoy the feeling of them overall. Whats your favorite switch that your currently using and why?

I got a chance to examine some Kailh BOX switches and was highly impressed with both the tactile and clicky versions.  I want my next build to use the BOX white clicky switches or maybe the slightly heavier pale blues, haven't decided yet.

I went on a switch frenzy this past month. Learning how to use a soldering iron has opened up a world of possibilities :D

Right now, my favorite switch are the Kailh Box Pale Blues.
Least favorite switch of the month are Kailh heavy yellows.
I'm interested in trying out the Kailh pro switches- namely the burgundy and the purples.

Kailh Pro switches are awful. They're scratchy and feel awful to bottom out.

Favourite switch this month has probably been the Holy Greilh switches. These are linear Greetech stems and springs, transplanted into new Kailh housings. They are extremely smooth, even smoother than Tealios and Box Blacks, according to some.

Alps SKCM oranges are (and will probably always be) my favorite, followed closely by SKCM cream dampened switches. I have one batch of regular ol Cherry browns that are amazingly good, much better than others I have owned which tells me that Cherry’s manufacturing might not be very consistent because normally, I’m normally not a huge fan of browns. Weird.

I haven’t even touched a keyboard this month :(

Bulking spring for me, if feels crisper that Cherry MX Blues and Outemu MX Blue Clones, also I feel that the actuation point is a bit more defined on bulking srping. Another factor is the sound of the keys on the IBM Model M board which I find is nicer and it also has some base to it, compared with the mechanical switches I have tried up to now at least and the pressure needed for the keys is exactly what I like lately.

I am even considering giving a try to Cherry MX Greens soon.

Still blue Alps. I know there are better engineered switches out there, like CBS and beamspring, but man, blue Alps are just so nice :D .
