watching this. definitely interested!
Consider me interested!PCBs will be offered during the group buy, but if you're looking for a currently available PCB with usb breakout support I would check out Hiney's h87a.
Also, please forgive my ignorance as I'm a little new to this branch of DIY-keyboards, but does anyone have any tips for non-group buy PCB that would fit this board? Would the KBD8X work? Or should I wait for another group but for something else?
Any opinions would be greatly appreciated!
Are you going for that kind of rainbow coloration on the black PVD coating or was that just a result of the process?
as much as I love the overall design. I think the price is a bit too much for me. not sure where much of the cost is going to. I would imagine the PVD finish. or maybe the custom gasket. or the machine time to create those curves?
100% in. I love this. Just hope I am lucky enough to get a spot. Any idea when the GB will go live?Relatively soon, but will get prototypes in the hands of a couple content creators prior to.
Option to pick up an extra cable during the GB? At this price point, might as well have both USB-A and USB-C...I will reach out to my supplier and will get back to you.
The silver seems to be more of a darker silver / light grey. Am I correct in assuming this will not resemble an "Apple Silver".Correct. The prototypes were anodized to match RAL 9006.
No bumpons?
Correct. The prototypes were anodized to match RAL 9006.
However, I am not opposed to the idea of choosing a different tone of silver/gray if there's interest.
Update: "Apple Silver" is Pantone 429C (https://www.pantone.com/color-finder/429-C) which is fairly close to RAL 7040 (https://www.ralcolorchart.com/ral-classic/ral-7040-window-grey)
what makes this worth $300-400 more than those $400-500 keyboards? no offense, just want to know if there is difference in material used or other stuffs. thanksPVD brass bottom. Lots of machining for the curves, I think. A few nice included peripherals (case) too.

Thanks, however on second thought I don’t think a lighter grey will look good with the PVD black bottom. If I join, I will be going for the e coat black.
With regard to the price for the board:
1. Is shipping included?
2. Could the pelican carrying case be made optional?

This.
Yes, brass is a relatively cheap material. However.. machining, hand polishing, and PVD finishing such a large piece of brass is not cheap. The cabled connectors and pelican case are included at bulk per unit pricing.

Thanks. few other questions:
1. who will be the manufacturer?
2. is there a top case brass option?
3. $850 is most expensive GroupBuy keyboard i have seen in this community, and i think everyone is worry about Quality Control as no one is willing to spending 850 on an imperfect keyboard.
4. if you can make Pelican case as an option, i think this will attract more people to join.
Interested, but will the PCB support ISO?

Hiney's h87a pcb supports ISO.

Is this the heaviest board that's been done as a group buy here?
Is this the heaviest board that's been done as a group buy here?
yeah, probably. The original weigh-ins we did on the protos were insane.

no 1 with brass is 11.8lbs unbuilt, 456GT is ~12-13lbs
If you are prototyping PVD silver, is there a reason to not offer that in the gb?
Cool. Might have to bite...If you are prototyping PVD silver, is there a reason to not offer that in the gb?
I am actually going to change the options:
Silver tops will come with silver pvd bottom
Black tops will come with black pvd bottom
That's what I was worried about. This won't take very long.Same I'm gonna have to be ready to get one if these.
Board looks stellar , it’s between the Kepler and the satisfaction 75%. Choices choices.
So if Jane v2 CE sold 100 spots in 2 seconds, based on my highly proprietary algorithm it should take Kepler...
... <calculating>

...1 second to sell 50 spots?

Hoping to get clear GB date/info this weekend. Thanks for your patience.
Thanks for being on the ball by wanting to get GB info up early enough for everyone to know... I'm going to be ready to pull the trigger right when you open it up... I was sad to not get in on No.2 or Jane V2 CE (the latter of which I just didn't know about the GB info on, because of how quick it went from info to GB opening)...
Frankly, Kepler, HBCP, and IRMA (plastic Alice too, but IRMA moreso) are the upcoming board GBs I'm truely excited about; I CAN'T miss out on the opportunity to jump in on these if I can help it.
You rock, and that board looks spectacular. I can't wait!

So mix and match is not possible? I like that render where it's silver top and black bottom.
I didn’t find anyone asking. Where is it shipped from?
