This issue is resolved, you can view the new posts page (excluding member forums) or use a greasemonkey script to filter posts in the member forums in the spy.
Also consider using this greasemonkey script to enhance the usability of the new posts page a bit.

If people keep bringing threads up, that you just don't care about, there should be a button to ignore those threads. Forever. Across all of your computers.

There already is an ignore list for people. Threads on the other hand... not so much.
