Matt3o:
the original Granite included a lot of weird "super" keys (as windows key alternative). We are talking over 12 years ago when the hobby was really driven by the community and it was less mainstream. We had keys like the SGI Graphics, X11 and Wayland, Windows 3.11 logos, we even sneaked in some star wars logos (but don't tell Melissa)... and the 2 Amiga "A".

Over the many releases we changed them a few times but with the increased interest in mechanical keyboards we had to limit their number, because high volumes lead to averaging.

In the meantime I was able to sneak some of those super keys (including the A) into some MT3 sets. It was about the time that Drop decided to go full ballistic with keycaps. They saw the potential and decided to limit the options and concentrate on quantity. They made new official kits and picked the legends and novelties they liked, and those became Drop's de-facto standard. BUT... They did that without consulting me, so they decided to include the Amiga A as well, having no idea what it was (they thought it was a sassy Alt key... or so I was told). So basically every MT3 sets came out with that key and it kinda became canon.

So at this point it has become a sort of Signature keycap and I don't complain about it. The main reason it has been added here is to create a direct reference to the original DSA Granite.

Also what @Piperaceae says is true.

Non-homing F and J are an essential part of alternative layout support with uniform-profile sets. The alternative homing keys are in both base kits, which is fantastic. Please keep non-homing F and J.

Edit: added picture

In contrast, sculpted profile Colevrak+ kits don't need R3 non-homing F & J because none of the supported alt layouts have F or J on R3.

We have decided to slightly delay the group buy for Granite in order to take photos of the samples. We still expect this set to launch soon, with late August as the general timeline.
