Is there support intended for original Cherry 1800s?

I see there's multiple spacebar sizes in the sketches, sure hope this set comes with support for 1800's and 6U spacebars. :thumb:

It does support 1800 including the 6u space bar, it is shown in both the base alpha color and in the blue one and you should be aware that GMK mold for these bars fits the 1800's stems positions, while SP's does not.

Almost gave up looking for sets for the Cherry 1800s, because recent sets from GMK aren't designed with them in mind but for modern 1800 layouts with standard or 7U spacebars.

Right; fortunately, a few sensible group buy leaders of current ICs that will turn into buys soon, are offering the 6u option, you should be prepared to invest in them, because I think, most upcoming sets will support 6.25 and 7 units bars, only; also, you should be aware that Sprit has developed the wire in that size and he posted a picture of it today, I suppose the wire will be available soon. The original wires of this size from 1800 keyboards tend to present a bump in the middle that may clash with plates as most of the boards that carried it do not have plates, while the Sprit's is straight.

Now if only we can get a Bulbasaur Set similar to this one... GMK Vine anyone?

The green set is next :). I've done some drawing the novelties but these are more like sketches compared to what has happened for GMK Hydro, as I believe they are fundamental to the final design of the whole set.

Here are my plans:

1) GMK Hydro
2) GMK Vines
3) Possibly GMK Flames
3.5) Possibly GMK Lightning ?:)
4) Possibly DSA Hydro
5) Possibly DSA Vines.
6) Possibly DSA Flames.

I would do a red set, but I think there's this certain quality of red that people don't enjoy. Not that many RED sets have been made but many this can be one of the few!

I hope you all enjoy this plan and hope you all enjoy the designs that come from this.

But these are just plans, and if I can't get these things done, I'll make sure to pass of the designs to someone else to make sure they get done :^).

Great work and ideas!
The novelties are beautiful, can't wait to see the future ones :)

AFAIK, 1800 keyboards with 7u WKL arrangement is actually the old-school arrangement. Newer boards are the ones that comes with 6u spacebar and winkeys

Correct. The blue novelties will have black "legends" and the blue mods will have white legends.
I don't mind. Makes them stand out more and now you have black sunglasses!

White legend on blue modifiers match novelties better , i think.

We have switched to N9 on blue mods. I fundamentally believe that N9 is how the novelties should be designed.

now that it matches the render I think it doesn't look too bad - especially since the gmk bluegaloo mods are a set already and matches. it's kind of a tough call but I guess we'll see in person; zambu's renders look pretty good to me though

Count me in!, I am a really careful consumer of keyboard stuff, the budget I set for the hobby is very tight, thus, I tend to be extremely picky to bite; but, this set has pretty much anything I need in a set. The only way I may not get in is if it goes through MD, for the simple reason they do not ship to the Country I live in now, which is very strange as we are just across the border.

I fundamentally believe that I'd kill off the novelties by changing it to GR1.

Maybe if we need to change that up, R2 will have the N5/GR1 keys that you wish to see. Of course, you can always try to find a bluegaloo set to change it up :^).

I had that. Wasn't too impressed with the combo. With the black mods, I'm sure Hydro will adhere to my preferences better.

Man, ever since I noticed that all-black F row it's the only thing I can see. Looks like you were trying to go for symmetry as you have the black pipe/slash and tilde keys as the main layout (with optional white keys included, thankfully), but that always bothered me when people put mod colors for text keys.
That said, looks like we can't do much to have a more traditional set as the black keys on top deter from that.

It's still my dream set, but I may have to think 'bout it.

Still glad you chose the Win95 logo and the splash of blue to break up the top row, but no matching alpha-colored F keys... ;_;

Modifier Gray should be the same as Dolch Alphas Base (i believe).

The Alpha appear to be the same as Hyperfuse obviously with blue instead of purple. Are their color codes the same?

The Alpha appear to be the same as Hyperfuse obviously with blue instead of purple. Are their color codes the same?

Everything set will always be compared to Hyperfuse :p

Hyperfuse uses 2M (IIRC) & this uses GR1.

I think I actually like the gr1 better. The hyperfuse alphas look really white. Gr1 looked more white

Really? Gr1 looks like it has a little hint of gray in it ; maybe 8%?

Just compared Macbook Pro to a Dell P2415Q - doesn't make a significant difference in toneage

Then looked at the Hyperfuse in-person, indeed the hyperfuse alphas look too white for my taste, but when you inspect them individually, they are not that white, but within the set, they look super-white, probably from the contrast

GR1 seemed ok. to me too, I guess, it might be futile to try to avoid whiteness for a set with white alphas

I think this set would look nice on 2M, GR1, CP, not sure how exactly 2M vs GR1 compares tho

TL;DR: I don't have a strong opinion on the topic :)
