The chain dude will look real nice!

and the snitch thing is awesome ! Id be worried about the replication of the snitch in the casting process, but if youre gentile, you can probably make it work!

4x success!

Had a few hanger onners inside the alps caps mold, that was cleaned up this morning and the next one should be better.

Don't have the detail shots of the mx caps from the 4x, but they look pretty sharp. I'm really excited to be working with this new mold, it should help me get to market faster. Sadly I didn't have enough to go for the bigger container of oomoo on my last order, so I can't made a second 4x, but I should be just fine as is for now.

Holy Crap!!!! Both of those new sculpts look amazing. Absolutely love the detail work on the chain on your sculpture as well as the wing shape on your wife's! Great job man.
Thanks dude! I can't wait to work on my wifes key, a few minor adjustments and some delicate casting and we might have an actual artisan on our hands.

:D I hear that sound a lot when I'm pulling these guys out of the molds.

would love to have that blue/teal haha. nice new sculpt
I appreciate the support, I should have a public sale over in r/mechmarket in the next few weeks. I'll post an update here as well when that happens.

I'm for sure worried about the snitch, but I think its worth a go. The oomoo 25 is really easy to stretch, so maybe... We'll see how it turns out.

I dont doubt that you can make it happen
I was just wondering about the ability to make a number of casts before the mold eventually gives in.

How did you make the alps cap? it looks really clean.

Thanks, my MD infinity comes back today (dude returned it for some dumb reason) and it has alps, I'll get to test fit it.

I thought I had posted about the multi stem before? Guess I'll need to do a write up on that.

Thanks man, they really look blue when they are on their own but when you put them next to actual blue ones its easier to see their color.

Its actually been kinda fun having a small group of people to email every couple of days. They've been really great with the ups and downs, and its a small enough group that production isn't crazy.

I'm thinking I might do that type of thing again, maybe with the next batch? Change a few of the rules around and such but.. Just a thought, not sure if I really want to, but I like having that small group of people to check in with.

I think of all the things that I've learned so far this stands out to me.

I consider both of these caps failures. The one on the right, obviously it didn't make it and by the bubbles you can tell its pre pressure pot days and the one of the left while technically superior it has a divot in the chin.. I still have a long ways to go in my process, but man it feels nice to see the progress.

And on a separate note, I've finished all the caps for my backers and I'll be mailing those out tomorrow morning. They deserve a big round of applause! It was really neat running a mini kick starter through the r/mk r/mm community, and I might do it again just to have people to write to a few times a week.

Oh man, I wish I had read this last night. Seriously laughed out loud when I saw this this morning.

But to answer your question, it depends. A lot of these aren't even caps. Remember when I royally ****edup my first mold? Well I kept pouring resin into the 1st part of it anyway just to practice.

Lots of them have bubbles, thats been solved, mostly, by better equipment.

Some of them weren't mixed correctly, as in they are still sorta flexible.

Some of the had issues when trying multi shots, which happened because I tried to mix the very least amount of resin I could... That didn't work out.

I also had an issue with a mold, so some of them have this extra tall kinda lip thing around the bottom.

And a few didn't have quite enough resin in them, so when I put them under pressure there wasn't enough in the sprue hole to make a fully formed cap.

My personal favorite though was when it was colder in the basement and they were still maleable after 2 hours in the mold (using 326) so I squished one :)

So yeah, I'm sure there are plenty of other mistakes that I have yet to make but no one thing aside from their general lack of drive :D Thanks @Romevi for that  ;D

Haha, this is a great photo
:D

I had some fun mailing packages yesterday. Got all the Squishy McSquishface monsters out to my backers. Renaming them too.. Not sure on what to call them. And now I only have 10 caps that are good enough to sell. Better keep working.

And just working on some colors.

Seems like blue & purp are the most popular so far. The pink batch I did last night ended up being a wee bit fleshy colored, but kinda neat just the same. Really digging the mint/celeste type color.

New order or oomoo is out for delivery today, so that means I can either make more molds for the lil monster &/or refine some other sculpts and make molds for them. Probably both :)

I've seen the 'show me what you've got' gif and I've heard of the show before. But as you can imagine, I don't watch a lot of tv right now..

If you look here, you can see what I was working on prior to digging into keycap crafting. Still planning on finishing the OG 151, about halfway through atm.

Great stuff! Those buckets of silicone bring tears of happiness to my eyes. If I can offer a kind suggestion, I would say to use a platinum-cure silicone (like smooth-cast) instead of OOMOO after you use all of that. The platinum cure is a little more pricey, but lasts so much longer when you have complex or detailed molds that aren't smooth. I used to use OOMOO, and now I'll never go back.

Love your colors! I'll be watching your progress!
