Love the red and black frame in the prototype pictures any intention on making it one of the final color choices?
I'm in!
Any chance of WKL?
this is must have. split space support like key 65?
Run yellow again
so nice. I am in. Hotswap?

back looks really nice. leaf spring so hot right now.Leaf spring will be nice. What is usb board? Is it daughterboard?
Looks awesome, probably gonna join. Curious why you didn't include the Key65 in your lineup of boards/history or just do another round of these?
- HHKB style Split backspace support? (this is a must for me)
- Stepped caps/control?
- Any pricing estimates?
Thanks!
Any chance of EU vendors?
Very nice. Would the PCB have underglow for the PC version? Is there also a chance of a smoky PC? Thanks.
I saw render a few months ago with a single color lilac. Is there any possibility of having single color options?
Run yellow again
You mean yellow anodizing?

Yes! Yes! Yes!
I want this alot, Has the CNY GB run already?
Potential buyers be warned: you won’t get any replacement PCBs for your keyboard after the GB. I’ve tried to get my hands on Leaf60 solderable PCB for ages but Senter a) ignores all emails and other ways of getting in touch b) deletes whole IC threads for PCB production runs because of “insufficient interest” while multiple people are clearly interested and are willing to pay up.
You should do a limited run of full pvd brass in gold and rose gold like you did with the leaf60. Those are beautiful and i will buy one for sure. Otherwise i think the middle exposed portion should be polished steel or brass.
Sorry if this has been asked before, but will this be a limited run? also excited to see what color options there will be! I loved a lot of the looks on the zFrontier page!
Any chance to see a layout chart that shows all possible layouts? I'm particularly interested in one that doesn't have the top right corner blocker, i.e. I'd love an actual key instead of the the logo block, even though it looks amazing
My apologies. The tread was locked, not deleted indeed.Potential buyers be warned: you won’t get any replacement PCBs for your keyboard after the GB. I did locked that thread as the reasons explained in the above link. There's no way to produce PCBs for just "multiple people".
I order extra PCBs for every GB going forward, but most of the time they are only available for a short time. You should not expect any GB runners to keep extra PCBs forever.
PCBs in general are not easy to be damaged / there are always ways to fix them if you have the skills. If you're likely to damage your PCB and don't have much knowledge on repairing, I suggest buying extras in the first place.

any word on when this GB will be available? I have to start budgeting for this and I don't want to miss out.
what is the typing angle?
I think this looks like a very nice board. if there is an option for polycarbonate with no logo blocker I will be in I think
P.S. I forgot to mention, I would like to see FR4 and Carbon Fiber as plate options :thumb:
Is the middle piece visible from the front face of the keyboard? Or is it just a regular seam in front?
How tall is the front of the case? The Leaf60 was pretty low profile, and this looks just a tad bit taller.

Going off of the past ICs and respective GBs I'd say you're looking at maybe a month or two - never know though, and I'm sure Senter will be more than happy to give you an actual answer when he can.
This is a beautiful board. Is there anywhere I can sign up for a reminder?
Can you explain what is USB board as in the diagram? Leaf spring for leaf board. Nice...

I made a middle frame in PVD brass. The quality control of PVD is still a headache.

Hopefully there will still be an option for a PVD brass plate at least. I absolutely LOVE mine on the leaf60. Whenever I receive a regular brass plate for other builds I am always a little disappointed it is not as nice as on the Leaf60.
Love the design! Are individual RGB-LEDs for each key planned to be on the PCB?
Any plans for WKL layout?
Will there be different plate materials like PC, POM, Nylon?
E-White with Green PVD brass accents would be something else. Nonetheless would enjoy E-White and Green for my botanical set.
Is there going to be ISO support?
Oooh this is gorgeous! Will there be a hotswap option? o:
Love the board! One quick question though. In the renders, there's a leaf engraving on the top right corner. But that's not on the prototypes. Will you be offering both designs?I have the same question..blocker looks nice :)

Shame about the Taegu types build stream. Pcb problem I assume? Will this delay the gb?

I don't know if the GB should be postponed or not until I figure out the issues. Most probably not.
It's unfortunate. I'll check the PCB when I have it in my hands. The PCB was not tested by myself but was tested by my collaborator who designed the PCB. He also hand-soldered all the prototype PCBs. I guess some parts were not soldered very well and got loose during the shipping. It shouldn't be a big problem though, as 32u4-based PCBs are pretty straightforward, and we've been making these for years.
BTW, I'm waiting for another prototype part to arrive. If it works as I excepted, I'll make a last-minute change/upgrade for what's been shown so far.
Why not expand a little bit on the final combinations of available finishes and pricing? why insist on being annoying?
I noticed Minterly stating the color options in her YT video. Have these been decided on? If so, have they been listed somewhere?
Have you received back the PCB from Taeha to troubleshoot what went wrong? Looking forward to your next update.Damn this keyboard just blew a USB port on Taeha's build stream. Unfortunate.Shame about the Taegu types build stream. Pcb problem I assume? Will this delay the gb?

Now I want to make it the default, maybe the only, plate option. What do you think?

The material of the skeleton plate is aluminum as usual. I’ll test other materials (FR4, brass) as well.
Firstly, it’s very strong. Don’t be afraid it will be damaged or deformed easily.
Secondly, well, it’s not that flexible as I thought. Regular PC plates are much softer. FR4 plates with this design may be different though.
I always hope I can offer something different in my GB that you cannot get from others, even the decisions are risky and not that mainstream. So far I still want to make it default. Convince me why not if you hate it.

For me, the plate can offer extra protection for the pcb against crumbs, pet hair, spills even. So I would choose a plate with more coverage generally. But, I plan on buying extras to have aluminium, fr4, (carbon fibre maybe?!) so hopefully wouldn’t affect me. I think with the curved design and plate cutouts shown, you are already offering something different enough for me.
I've really liked the customization options offered in this IC so far, like the case colour combinations and a choice to have the top-right leaf badge or not.
I'd like to see that customizability extended to the plate choices...rather than have the skeleton plate as the default/only option. You'd still be offering something different if the plate was offered as an extra.

That's a good point. It's not a big issue if you use the PORON sheet under the plate I assume?
Hi Senter,
I was doublechecking the color options for the case at foxlab.store/products/leaf-65 and saw no purple or lilac. i watched the whole thing. he gave away two leaf65 at the end. it was stiffer than you would expect from a gasket mount called leaf. taeha was also surprised at how expensive it was. i pointed out that it is more expensive than time80RE. other than that pretty good.

Hmmm, judging me just based on a placeholder product page is pretty arrogant and rude in my opinion. I haven't formally announce the GB, and I'm still making changes on my website. Making the page active with 0 stock is to enable and test some of the apps on shopify.
Due to the recent USD/CNY exchange rate changes, $415 this year is $366 excluding the transaction fees in the last year, not counting the price incensements on basically all the materials. Does that sound a little better?

No it's not better. Not having a contact us email address doesn't have anything to do with the future gb. What about owners of previous products?

Hmmm, judging me just based on a placeholder product page is pretty arrogant and rude in my opinion. I haven't formally announce the GB, and I'm still making changes on my website. Making the page active with 0 stock is to enable and test some of the apps on shopify.
Due to the recent USD/CNY exchange rate changes, $415 this year is $366 excluding the transaction fees in the last year, not counting the price incensements on basically all the materials. Does that sound a little better?
No it's not better. Not having a contact us email address doesn't have anything to do with the future gb. What about owners of previous products?
1. Time80RE was the first GB I run through the Shopify store. Before that, I communicate with buyers through my Gmail email.
2. For Time80RE, a packing list like blow is attached. Scanning the QR code can lead you to the guide. The contact information is also on the paper.
3. I do agree I'm not doing a perfect job. No one does. Though, I'm surprised how easily people can use words like "arrogant and rude" on someone you don't even know much.Show Image(https://i.imgur.com/bIAWkep.png)
you got defensive too quickly. not only i have called your keyboardsd "works of art" on many forums and discords i have spent a lot of money buying them on mechmarket and have been following this so i can buy more. i do have a problem that if you get defensive from someone who is very much a supporter then how would you treat someone who might be much newer than i am and might have a problem or critisim at some point.
i recently had a defective pcb from another small keyboard manufacturer. i was initially shocked to see that there was no support section or email or phone number explicitly listed on their website. but thankfully they had an active discord and they replied on discord in minutes. when i am asking you why not have an "about us" section who tells people who are they trusting with their money or have a way of answering people's concerns, there is literally no reason that you should get defensive. just recently there has been examples of both keyboard and keycap makers who have gone MIA after taking money from people so asking for a little transparency is not arrogant, refusing it is arrogant.
Hi Senter,
I was doublechecking the color options for the case at foxlab.store/products/leaf-65 and saw no purple or lilac. At the beginning of this thread you mentioned full lilac could be an option, is this not the case anymore, and the colors on the product page are the final colorways?Show Image(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210224/d2144a832320edccba87e3e4b0875e22.jpg)
unfortunately, we weren't able to adjust the lilac color ⊙︿⊙
Thanks for all the updates!
Question: Any plans on adding polycarbonate Plates for the GB?
If not will the plate files be available after GB?

Well that's super sad, it was a beautiful finish :( Could we get some more IRL pictures of the pink powdercoat case? Also, could we choose to have the FR4 plate as the default plate option instead of only as an extra?
Alright no problem. Thanks for all the updates!

I don't plan to add polycarbonate plates this time. We already have aluminum, brass, and FR4.
Yes, I share plate files for all keyboard kits from me.

FR4 is the only option doesn't fit the rule that the plate and weight must be in the same material and color. I really suggest you to try the default skeleton plate or pay $25 more for an extra FR4 one.
Is the GB still planned to run this week, or is it delayed?I’m dumb, haha. According to insta, GB starts today at 8 PM ET

I'm curious how the board sounds without foam? I've seen minterly's review and taeha's build where he mentioned it sounds a bit muted with the foam installed. I'm curious if the foam was added later in the design, or always an intended part. Definitely loving the design and color options but at $415, i'm just a bitttt on the fence.
