Okay so,

I just came back home after a long day just to see a ton of emails. Then i checked the thread and saw some people were unhappy about the price.

Now to those of you who can't seem to understand I'm in a really bad situation right now; I'm sorry. It's a personal matter and I really just NEED ALL THE MONEY I CAN GET.

I am not selling my artisan caps because I want to make a profit out of it. I have never before sold any artisan keycap. Why? Because I have been collecting them for the past year and a half and because I love Bro's work, the effort he puts into it, and the way he makes it all a bit more accesible with raffles.

I would, if not for those unfortunate circumstances, never EVER sell them. EVER. If I would give them away, it wouldn't be for money. I would make some kind of raffles that would be fair.

But I'm in a dire situation and as stated above; I NEED ALL THE MONEY I CAN GET atm.

So i won't hesitate if someone offers more.

I can't influence the unfortunate turns of events that have caught me off guard in those past few days. So, again, I would like to apologize for doing this - To the community, to Bro, and specifically to everyone who got mad over it. I am sorry.

As for the caps, they're probably sold to temence for 450$.

These are sold privately for much more than is being asked here.

Isaske you might have better luck on ebay or even r/mechmarket but do be cautious with who you deal with, ship well packaged and take photos to protect yourself from sleazy buyers.

From recently just being in the same situation as OP, there are times when you've got to do things you don't want to. That doesn't make you a bad person. Unless of course that thing is murder or the like, but this is nowhere near that.

I understand you need the most money and I understand that in the grand scheme of things, this is about keycaps and it's pretty trivial. That being said, it seems like there was a better way to go about this. How was I or anybody else who PMed about the keycaps supposed to know that $380 wasn't really what they would cost? Collecting PMs waiting for the highest offer shouldn't be how this works. Your post said $380 and several people were willing to pay that but were never given the chance. Just trying to express my reaction and I don't think I'm alone.

I understand the money issues but I made multiple offers to buy at $380 within minutes of the post so Ill re state my original offer if that's not taken have fun with that everyone

I know what it's like to be in bad situation the transmission just went in my car for the second time in 3-4 months ....it sucks and I hope your able to resolve this in a quick and painless fashion just wish it was carried out differently

Yyyyyeeepppp.  Offers are meant to be for offers below the asking price, to ensure a sale.  Hosting a silent auction is against the forum rules.  Hosting an silent auction without telling the bidders?  That's just sleazy. 

OP, numerous people played by the rules and offered your asking price in a short period.  You've slapped them in the face by accepting an offer without declaring that you'd accept higher offers.

If you want to host an auction, please take it to eBay.  You'd get more money there anyway.

I was quick to come out and wish you all the best. I know how it is to be in a tough place.

That said I really freaking hate this crap about "the price is ___ (wink wink)" and then selling it to the highest bidder via PM.

This is not the first time it has happened, and it really spoils the spirit of the community every time it rears its ugly head. If it were up to me I would ban anyone involved including the buyer who is every bit as big a part of the problem as the seller.

I guess it's fortunate that I don't have that power. But I won't trade anything from my meager collection to either of you jerks. Ever.

Sorry for everyone, it definitely wasn't mean to be a silent auction or anything.

As said, I've posted the thread somewhere in the morning yesterday and I had to wait anyway for it to be approved by a mod.

I proceeded to go to school and checked geekhack/emails when i got home late in the evening.

Then I read all the replies and PMs and wrote a response for everyone in the thread.

As for bidding, it wasnt really bidding, he offered more and I just agreed. It was that simple. If i wanted an auction I would have waited for 3 days more for sure, since I already got an offer for 550$ while sleeping.

And ofc it was already sold.

What happened yesterday was just because of my lack of time and because of the fact that I wasn't near my computer for nearly the whole day.

Again, if any of this was wrong, I am very sorry to everyone who feels deprived of anything.
