If a bonus pack happens I'd love to see a 75% support:
either pg up & pg down on r3 r4
or home & end on r3 r4 since we got them in R1 R2 in the main set.

that's actually a nice idea

It is very likely that we will be adding a bonus pack with side printed legends! That would make this set absolutely gorgeous!

Oh NICE  :o ,  imagine getting even MORE extras bundled with this key-set, now this is what makes CTRL/ALT so great here on Geekhack Central  :thumb: .

I think Retro will be the MOST complex, manufactured key-set released thus far, having legends on multiple sides.

It would be instant buy for me with Topre sliders.  :)

You could get the MX to Topre sliders from the JTK Debut GB  ;)

Later today I'm asking a quote for the following. If there's anything you'd like to see in it, just let me know.

Now seeing this deal makes me really sad  :'( I really wished the base set had the mods and alphas separated.
People that want this bonus set will be forced to have two sets of alphas and people that wanted both mod colors and this will have three sets of alphas  :(

blame Bunny :D

(kidding! I'm just kidding! I'm forever grateful to bunnylake for making this possible)

On a side note. The set so far sold around 85 base sets. It's nice but definitely not enough, especially most of the side kits haven't reach the MOQ yet. We definitely need more orders...

Yeah I don't think anyone can be blamed. I'm sure you would have liked to offer everything separately, and Bunny already has enough on his plate to deal with (personal life and all the GBs he's running and shipping out)
I haven't placed my order yet but I should be doing it soon  ;)

I'll wait toward the last week if to pick up another base set of we need for moq. Please keep us updated on that front.

On that note are there any special gifts for us special folk that jumped on the GB without a second thought?  I saw this and knew at the title that I needed to have this!  ;D

This is what I'm talking about, the HARDEST set of Key-cap porn yet released here in Group Buys.

Truly mesmerizing without any equal anywhere on this planet.  My wallet shall bleed terrifically this month, but having these mounted on a few of my keyboards is the main goal above all else.

Dammit, not going to be able to resist now. I'll just need to sell some crap. Plasma maybe  :)

Would still love a 4.5 unit space if that's a possibility.

So...this may be an odd post, but a friend browsing the first page found the burgundy layout unattractive - and going back, I sort of get what she's saying. Now, I happen to think DSA Retro w. plum mods looks great, but it does look better on, say, a Poker w. green accents than on a 75% all red.

[not my photo]

Would never have occurred to me, but the original pic may be an unintentional turn-off for folks, s'all I'm saying...

Too fvcking right, everyone that loves this SET should promote the living hell out of it, because this won't ever be done again.

Normally never have anyone's sig on my profile but this SA Retro actually makes me look cool,  once used a C64 during my schoolie years (before Apple was introduced).

Quick update.

SA Retro is going well and we are not overly worried, but we are still far from the target. Especially true retro needs more love. I'm sure the new bonus pack will help pushing the true retro but anyway as of now we still miss:

50-60 True retro base kits
20-30 Burgundy base kits

also both Numpad kits need more love.

Matt3o, if it's not too late:

Maybe - in order to get some use out of the extra alphas - redundant ";',./" should be included in the PETSCII pack. Because that way, you at least have a complete alpha set to be used with a different set of SA mods. The extra alphas may be a waste anyway - but they will *definitely* be a waste if they're part of an incomplete set. And the cost of 5 extra keycaps probably won't deter anyone who wants the kit.

Or offer PETSCII as an "upgrade", rather than a separate kit? Or you could prevail again on Bunny to unbundle the modifiers. :p

There's no way. I was totally in for one, but with this new PETSCII option, it doesn't make as much sense. But still maybe, I guess I'll have to see when it hits.

I get that it's not going to fail to be made, but as one of the lead proponents of adding the Colemak kit, I want to make sure that you're not stuck with the bill if it falls short. I'd like to see more Colemak support in the future, so I really want to see this kit succeed.

oh wow, that's sexy!

The set looks good on everything!

you are a wizard sir, love your work

You are both very kind, but I can't take that much credit. I worked with my friend on it, and I owe inspiration to the Cartesian Longboard design.

The big thing that jumped out at me about Ethan's layout was the symmetrical hand placement. As soon I saw this, normal 60% keyboards started bugging me, and I knew I had to build a new keyboard. I started out with the columnar layout but eventually went back to staggered.

In his, and this design, when your hands are on the home keys, they are in the exact middle of the entire board. I made the bonus keys on the left 1u because I wanted there to be a gap for the sake of feel when blindly reaching with the left pinkie.

Anyway, no one asked for more detail, but here you go anyway!

Excuse my ignorance but what keyboards do the 3u and 4u spacebars work with?

Also, any Planck support? Looks like there is some support unofficially.

Planck is mostly good to go with the base kit and Pro Mods, plus any 2u blank in Row 3 for the space bar or maybe the + key from either of the Numberpad kits.  I think the only thing missing is the 1u Caps Lock (or Shift Lock) on Row 3, but there are suitable substitutes elsewhere.

Likewise for Atomic layout, except a couple more 2u blanks would be needed.  Blanks could be harvested from the Ergodox kit in a pinch but the colors wouldn't match the alphas.

The Filco Minila uses a 3 unit spacebar. I wouldn't be surprised if there was some Japanese layout that used it as well. I don't think I've ever seen a board that uses a 4 unit space, but according to the other web site's wiki it's used by Tipro. The Tex Beetle and the Pure Pro use a 4.5 unit space.

I think there is an error on the mockups on the ctrlalt.io site. There is only a stepped R3 control key, the non-stepped control says that it is R4 :S

As for for Plancks you can either use the 2u shift as the space bar, or use one of the 2u R3 blanks in the Ergodox kit. For the Atomic, you will have to buy the pro mods and the Ergodox kit to get a 2u R3 blank to use as the return key. All in all there is support if you are willing to pay for it, which is to be expected with a niche board :)

You can't go wrong with a WASD barebone keyboard, especially since they actually supply all Green or Clear CherryMX switches  :thumb: .

we will be adding both keys (in R4 and R3)! It's an error on my part (and nobody noticed until the GB was up :P)

It will be an add on. They are too expensive for the base set.

I believe the above kit will go around $50-60. I still don't know when (and if) it will go live, that's totally up to Bunny, but the set is not terribly successful so... don't hold your breath.

It will be an add on. They are too expensive for the base set.

I believe the above kit will go around $50-60. I still don't know when (and if) it will go live, that's totally up to Bunny, but the set is not terribly successful so... don't hold your breath.
I don't know about anyone else, but I was holding out for the PETSCII legends before placing my order.

Later today I'm asking a quote for the following. If there's anything you'd like to see in it, just let me know.

Maybe I missed it, but are the side printed graphics part of the retro set, or is this going to be an add on?

I'll add on a PETSCII to my order (and probably another base set).

a show of hands

I'm probably in, but if the price was mentioned earlier, I missed it. Last I saw, Matt3o asked for a quote.

EDIT: I was a dummy and forgot that Matt30 told us the expected price. Mea culpa.
