just MX and no bluetooth. qmk with stm32 does not work with bluetooth yet

It’s big problem to add Alps support?
Greetings

I'll try.

I've got a brand new v2 pcb which I just finished up soldering switches to, but now when I plug it in nothing happens, not even the led turn on. All soldering looks good and the ribbon cable isn't damaged, so where do I begin troubleshooting?

I've desoldered the pcb and tried again... nothing.
Moved the jumper from the stock firmware to qmk... nothing.
Tried several different usb-c cables... nothing.
Tried a PC and a MacBook Pro... nothing.
Connected it to a battery with power display, it does something and consumes 5.1v but the leds wont turn on.

This is a brand new v2.0.4 pcb, I'm not sure but I think I might even have tested it when I received it. Since then it's just been laying in it's esd bag in a box, untouched so I can't really see what can have happened to it.

Is there something I've completely missed that I can try? It's really f-cking annoying that I still haven't been able to use my ca66 since the gb like 2 years ago..

I don't know about Windows and MacOS, but on Linux you can see if connected USB device is recognized at all and what it is recognized as.
Once I had a problem that the keyboard always started in bootloader mode due to a short.
With CA66 specifically I had problems with desoldering, because - due to the wires in PCB - it's very easy to cause a short.

Phuckkk...

Does anyone know where can I get a replacement for a 5-pin to 5-pin PCB to daughterboard connector?

For posterity, it's apparently a ZH 1.5mm Pitch which you can get from here: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32859226460.html

I have been using my round 2 board for about a year. All of a sudden last week the leftmost row of keys stopped working. (Esc, tab, caps lock, shift). The rest of the board works fine. Does anyone have any ideas. This worked fine for over a year. The board isn’t dead. The rest of it works fine. Opened it up and everything looks normal for those keys.

As an update, I opened the board and used a multimeter across the contacts of each of the 4 dead switches.  My multimeter beeps when each of the 4 keys are pressed, so the switches are fine.  The signal just isn't getting to the controller.  Can traces go bad on their own without any trauma to the board?

It has to either be corrupt firmware, a scratched trace, connection to MCU gone, or Chip fragged.

It is certainly possible for the solder joint on the controller that connects to the trace to fail.  There is very little contact there to begin with.  Any condition such as temperature/humidty change or a possible vibration from moving or even static shock could have possibly broken it loose.  This time of year I would usually assume it was something caused by static shock.  Possibly corrupting the firmware, possibly fying the processor.

Are you absolutely certain you didn't do anything recently that could have scratched a trace?  Did you have a stabilizer pop loose and try to get it back in?  Random, but I scratched a trace doing that once and didn't put two and two together even after several days of troubleshooting.

If it was my board, I would start by re-flashing the firmware.  If that doesn't work, you could try to find the pin on the chip that controls that column.  That's a bit hard for me to do with my multimeter b/c it sucks... ha.  So I, personally, would reflow the pins on the MCU.  Add flux to all of the pins on the chip and use a flat tip iron to hold on heat for a few seconds across several pins at once while keeping a small bit of pressure on the MCU with some tweezers or such.

Thanks for the suggestions.  I would reflash the firmware but annoyingly enough the ESC key is one of the 4 that is bad.  Is there another way to get it into bootloader mode?

Default reset appears to be fn + O  according to some online searching.  But if that doesn't work I'd probably reflow the MCU.

If anyone is interested - R3 orders are open now and supposedly shipping next month (June 2022) if you don't get Bluetooth.

Heads up ya'll, mechcables has right-angle connectors! You can finally get a nice cable for your Ca66 that doesn't stick out.
