Aren't the key caps incompatible with other boards?

It might just have been the caps lock.

I'm assuming the keycaps would be the same as the 2.0.  So all other keys should have normal mounting positions.

Can you guys double check the keycap material?  The site says ABS but per Chinese taobao these are POM.

I like everything about it - the perfect keyboard for the office - but I'm going to hang tight until MX Browns are available.

I thought these were like ~$89

Euros before shipping?

We did just lower the price to $99 shipped.

It's a great made in Germany board with the lowest profile Cherry MX caps I've seen.  Pretty solid addition to your collection.  Feels unlike any other Red MX I've typed on.

When I first became a member of GH one of the first rumors I heard was that Cherry keeps the best switches for themselves.  Now you've got me curious as all the MX Reds I've tried recently were extremely scratchy.

Get yourself a CM switch tester :)  It has a very scratchy red--a prime example of a scratchy switch.

Haha, if we sold this keyboard at 15% off with free shipping, we'd lose about $10 for every unit we sold.

We try to list the vast majority of our products at already low prices instead of setting prices high and running gimmick promotions every 2 weeks.

If you saw the MX 3.0s for $89 somewhere, it was likely in Euros - not US Dollars and it also likely didn't ship for free.

---

Other than wanting it below cost, are there any other reasons you guys are shying away from this model?  They aren't selling very well at all.  I thought the first new Cherry release in a few years would have been a hot ticket - even considering the switches aren't brown, blue, or green.  Any insight is appreciated!

^^ I'm partial to clears and double shot caps.

These low profile caps are interesting and I want to try them eventually.

If you release one with clears, it won't stay in stock.  Especially if decently priced.  Have you considered selling a version with no key caps?  I would think this would sell pretty good.  At least in this community.

Cool idea about no caps.

No caps is a bad bad idea as some of the stems are incompatible with the "Filco" standard.

Thanks for the pic kmiller.  I made sure to state "idea" because setting up capless boards with big name brands like Cherry is near impossible to begin with - not to mention, as you pointed out, the stem issues.

In China vendors are pushing POM/PBT cap sets for both the 3800/3850 so yes the stems are the same.

I think the 3800 sets are higher profile too.

The 2.0 is PCB mount while the 3.0 has a plate and the 3.0 has a detachable cable and a few other differences.

The black and red switch in my CM tester are not scratchy at all. However, my WASDv2 had plenty of scratchy blacks.

I wonder how those low profile keys feel. May suit me better for gaming -- one day I'll try one!

Sh!t, Cherry does it to us again, got to keep the black printed Capslock until something else comes along.  Would really love to put a Retro set into this, because it'll certainly look and feel better than what was provided.
