For stuff cleared out and getting setup. Already has an aluminum specific blade.

Things are happening.

Halo Spartan Armor?

Going to get back into making mouse pads.

Great to see that project moving along!  :)  I know it's been on your radar for some time now.

I boxed up my lightsaber collection and trooper helmets and put them away in the basement. Star Wars is dead. Time to stop clinging on to it.

Saw "Solo" with my son this weekend. The visuals and production were great but the plot was embarrassing.

Poor ragamuffins breaking free from the dystopian planet, could anything be more trite?

A train heist? Hello, Firefly?

The double/triple/quadruple-cross at the end?

And the Lando Calrissian character was genuinely pathetic.

I slept 14hrs yesterday and have been up since 6:30pm, so the plan is to (attempt) to stay awake until 9-10pm tonight. I'm trying to readjust my sleep schedule as it's gotten completely out of hand what with the whole unemployment and complete lack of responsibilities thing recently.

I'll tell ya one thing's for sure- it sure aint as easy staying up like this in my 30s as it was in my 20s. Damn you ravages of aging!

Strange.

When I quit ***s, my eternal headache cured itself.
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

Well.. Overall, I think there's the common attitude by Non-Trek folks to approach the comparison as Apple vs Oranges..

I think that is taking things out of scale.

Star Trek is like a Watermelon  vs  StarWars a Grape..

They are different things, and both have Value..   But as good as the Grape is,  it's a Grape, a SINGLE GRAPE..

Trek is well defined and extensive enough to be AN ENTIRE WAY OF LIFE..  While Star Wars is a pleasant day out at best....

Case swap and some sleeving.  Moved from a Fractal Design Nano S (which is an awesome case, just too big for ITX) to a Geeek MX110.  I have always loved acrylic cases and this one is built quite nicely.  Also figured I would single sleeve my SF450 psu to make it all fit nice and clean.  I had to cut and solder all the trace wires to keep it clean on the 24 pin (the Y's near the psu in the photos).  Overall, I am very happy with the outcome.

That case looks nice. Seems to have about the same dimensions as my Jonsbo/Cooltek U3, which are perfect dimensions IMHO.
My case does not have are a proper motherboard tray with cutouts, front drive mounts or holes for top fans.. and the layout is upside-down from yours. I will recommend people to look at that case instead of the Jonsbo from now on.

For the price, it is very easy for me to recommend.  Fair warning though, it comes flat packed and needs to be built.  It took me about an hour to put it together.  Also, the GPU bracket holder on the back is not the most sturdy thing.  Took a bit of fiddling to get it solid.

201826-0

Here you can see the lack of anywhere to actually bolt the top of the gpu bracket.  It uses a plate that slides down to put pressure on the bent tabs of the bracket and that plate is then tightened in place.  Not perfect.  I may actually just build a small aluminum bracket that bolts to the holes for the factory slider and allows me to actually put a screw into the gpu.  Not really an issue as is though since I don't move my case much.  I also added a little kickstand to hold the front of the gpu up (used one of the punched pieces from the pci slots and just measured and drilled a hole to bolt in a spare hole on the hdd bracket).

Thank you.   Top gentle typhoons are intake directly onto the GPU.  The radiator and psu  are the exhaust fans.   Temps are good so far even with the heat wave here in San Diego.  My lining room has been hovering in the mid 80s to low 90s.

I know it's backwards lol. I have a 1 TB hard drive that I barely use and I was thinking of splitting 500gb for mac OS and the other half for Windows.
I currently have two 120gb SSDs with the OS on those

Just get an SSD with more storage?  :))

My primary machine is running a 1TB SSD for OS alongside a 256GB SSD and 1TB/2TB/3TB/8TB HDDs. I haven't upgraded my laptop yet but it has a 256GB M.2 and 256GB SATA SSD. Once I do some other projects first I'll be upgrading that to 512GB/512GB M.2 and probably a 1-2TB SATA HDD.

I installed a swag lamp in my living room so my woman won't strain her olde eyes while playing MTG. Easier said than done. I will never claim to be a handyman. :))

I ended up buying an antique hob nob style globe lamp with hardware from Craigslist and replacing the short electrical cord and chain with a longer set. Then I had to buy a hammer drill because of our old, rock-hard cinderblock walls. Now, she wants me to install shelves above her desk.

9am: Telecon with boss man.  Looks like I might get my Scrum certification paid for by employer.  w00t!

10am: Breakfast w/ the wifey.  Corned beef hash, poached eggs, hash browns, diet coke, sourdough toast.

11am: Off to the pharm to pick up meds.

12pm: Late shower.

1pm: Haircut (#2 all over- tight)

2:30pm: Picked up kid from after school coding activity.  And he wanted chess club, bleh.

3pm: Dropped in on tiger team telecon (currently on speaker in background).  Amazing what ****e happens when consultants are brought in without a fully fleshed out SoW or project plan.

I'm going to miss this entire remote work thing when I have to return to on-site 10/1.

Still using 60 springs over here..  they're definitely in the 50s by now though.
