Southpaw 3d printed Case?
« on: Fri, 14 February 2020, 06:00:38 »
Hi community,
I was wondering why there's so little cases with southpaw design and if there's any chance we can have a 3d printed one. I will try to draw one myself in the near future if there's nothing similar.

what size/form factor are you looking for?

group buy just ended on the sp-111  - https://thekey.company/collections/sp-111
the southpaw - https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=92344.0
and the AEGIS - https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=97943.0
and the Extended 65 - https://www.aeboards.com/ext65

and DSI has had left handed boards for a while (standard off-the-shelf, minimal programmable mechanicals)
https://www.amazon.com/DSI-Handed-Mechanical-Keyboard-KB-DS-8861XPU-B-V2/dp/B0009S52X8

if you want to 3d print a case, look up some of the ones above and see if they have any files available on github as a starting point.

i've also seen a reversed TKL board (arrows on left). if you can find a base file of a standard TKL, you could just flip/mirror the design.

and there's also this that will be launching soon (for those truly dyslexic)

some cases without separation islands are flexible in layout. i was thinking of doing a left handed pcb for this case for instance, but you gotta pay to play ( and I didn't know the screw hole dimensions).
