Interested. So it is a hybrid mounting system? Top-mount plate AND tray mount poles?
Will the Bluetooth/USB dual mode code be contributed to QMK?
:D thanks oldcat!
After 6 months testing, it's time to intruduce G60 to everyone now...

Scott my man!
Is there anywhere to see all the possible layouts?
Really dig the design, not psyched by ALF's color catalog. I would love a gold/copper/brass/champagne or even a timid yellow like on the Leaf.
Off-white or beige colour case please!
Is there anywhere to see all the possible layouts?
Very interested, this feels like a good landing spot for some OG POMs that I have been sitting on for a while now!
I'll likely be sticking with top mount, but would you be able to comment on the number of mounting points you intend to include for tray mount?
Quick edit: Would you also be able to comment on the projected price?
This is just too cute to pass up.
This spacing seems off, any chance of a fix for R2?Show Image(https://i.imgur.com/23pWrrq.png)
will there be support for iso layouts?

I think you 100% can if you use traymount and your pcb of choice
I thought one could use almost any 60% with this?

The current plan is to allow layouts similar to XD60, Scott shared this layout image with me. We will update when the new PCB comes in!

Interested! 60%+Arrow keys layout, Bluetooth plus USB C plus QMK is a winner for me.
I'm a bit afraid that you want to much for this case.I have to agree with this. I don't care a bit for Bluetooth or wireless here. Especially for a board that is meant to be a recreation of something that is classic. Personally I'd rather just get one type of mount and be over with it.
Every compatibility has disadvantages.
For example the bluetooth integration is something I don't like because it needs a hollow space for battery and I won't use it.
Not sure about the double-mount. Best case it's just a bit more expensive, but perhaps there are other compromises to be made.
The design is so great and I hope it doesn't suffer to much from all this.
I would be happy if it was just an ordinary top-mount (or even tray-mount only) case.
I also don't care for Bluetooth. I embrace the wires!
Hey! I was curious about something. Does the case have standoffs for tray mount? Because I saw this picture of the mounting setup:
https://images-ext-2.discordapp.net/external/UWOQGWHH4f3d4_2EW5hR9wfE83tA0zIwmy4SW5WM8-M/%3Fwidth%3D828%26height%3D444/https/media.discordapp.net/attachments/489587683744677899/491242913058127883/unknown.png?width=746&height=400
Assuming there are standoffs for the tray mount options, why even have the two options? Because the standoffs, even without screws in them, will impede any flex that'd you'd get from the top mount option. Just curious if there was a reason for it?

I think the standoffs could be sitting a bit lower than the top mount pcb position so that you could still have most of the flex if you choose top mount.

the top mount option is for those who assembing a new board, and the tray mount keeps compitable for those who want to move his assembled boards to this case.
My vision for G60 is that I will make it some kind of a "Standard Platform," not just one keyboard. A "Platform" that we can try using mutiple combinations of PCBs, switches and plates on it. you can easily move your favourite assembled 60% PCB/plate to a G60, change your mini-usb board into type-c via a G60 case, swapping springs to get fresh new experience. I'm hoping a G60 will be a playground for your imagination and creativity with custom keyboards.

That's all nice, but i guess that are things most of us are doing with kbdfans cases.
The design is too good to mess it up and I think the price too high to use it as an experimental box.

so, as hhkbp2 and pixelpusher mentioned. when using top mounted, the PCB won't touch the standoffs, it will be slightly higher than tray mounted. the hollow space for battery is actually not so big, it won't affect the sound of the case when we typing on it.
Can we get a MAO finish for off-white?

What are examples of 60percent boards that would fit the case? Any hotswappable 60percent pcbs that would definitely fit the case?
Just got this today! 1.5kg, will try to build it later. Sadly only tray mount :(

Really hope the new PCB supports split space. I really feel like this board could be ideal for it in terms of the smaller form factor and use of additional layers
Is there an approx. Price?

so into this. This is my endgame case! This is the endgame for me also, although I know there is no such a thing as an endgame. Can't wait for the GB.
Image Gallery for R1 version, R2 will be much improved!!
Prototype done soon.

Looking good! Love the retro inspiration from the Cherry boards. Hopefully they are built much more sturdy than those though. lol

Quick question, No chance for universal plate option in the poll? or is it because of that current config only support a ANSI only pcb?

Hey, you can always use any GH60 compatible plate (and PCB) in the tray mount position. This poll is specifically for the top mount plate. Scott said he wanted to cut the top mount plate as little as possible, but at the same time providing some layout flexibility.

Would love an ISO option for the plate aswell.

ISO should be relatively easy to accommodate IMO, I will confirm with Scott on the top mount plate :)

the extend kits, contains mini type-c plug and receptacle. they can be cross-connected, which means PCB with mini receptacle can be extended to a type-c one, and vice versa.
How is it going with the prototype?, looking forward
Very interested if hot swappable keyswitches are a feature!
I've been keeping an eye on this board. It looks very promising? You mention that the board is QMK-based but also has a very long battery life. From what I've heard, QMK boards don't really have a long battery life due to the way polling is done (but I'm not sure). How do you manage to do this?
Also, if this board supports split spacebar as well as 2u shift, it may very well be my next keyboard!
Is there any chance of releasing a separate Bluetooth kit for existing qmk compatible PCBs?

Since I'm asking questions, what about a G65? ;) thanks...
What do you guys think about this colorway? We might do another proto based on this colorway if you guys are interested!

I preliminary decided these are all possible layouts, I dropped some rarely used and 2u LShift layouts, keeping the most common ones. and the layout compatibility for the 4mm thick plate has been limited, we split it into two main kinds, ANSI and ISO, we do maintain some compatibility on row 5, RShift and the Backspace.

But we can also use regular 60% plates? Or are special plates needed?Interested. So it is a hybrid mounting system? Top-mount plate AND tray mount poles?
Yes :)
And plus, it's compatible with regular PCB, plus dual mode QMK-based PCB.
The test ano looks good but seems way too dark compared to the OG NCR combo

Properly MAO And Grey showcased maybe? what do you say OP?
Very interested. Especially the navy blue colour

I updated some pictures in this post.
Will this accept gh60 PCBs or have universal mounting positions?
Any conclusion yet what all the 10 colors will be?
Really looking forward to it, I know scott have done amazing work on the pcb and plates and not to mention the design features. :thumb:

Also the colors on this look really good in general, really like the NCR theme.

any chance of seeing some OG cherry dyesubs or GMK 9009 on the NCR themed board? Just not a fan of how it looks with dolch, but I think I might like the color with another set.
Coming soon, in a day or two
GB form is in beta-testing in ALF discord.
