Hoarder's Paradise. No way the contents would be worth that much.

I am sure there is room for negotiation, but definitely not $100k worth. Even if everything was inventoried and tested you would still have a lot of time and expense hauling and storing this stuff. Lets not forget about eBay and PayPal fees, taxes, shipping, and the occasional angry buyer when try trying to sell stuff like this. This particular seller tends to list everything for top dollar on eBay. I would still love to sift through all this though.

Totally agree. There have to be at least a few good blue Alps boards buried in there.

I'm sure that anything that is actually quite valuable has already been picked out. Usually when you are trying to get someone to pay crazy high prices, you showcase some of the better stuff in the auction photos to get people interested, and I'm just not seeing anything too awesome. Agreed, would be fun to look through though!

The account has currently has hundreds of other auctions running for vintage equipment, and a long history of selling the same.

This auction is for a warehouse full of the crap that they couldn't sell otherwise.

Yeah, the single Model M at the top of that container seems a bit contrived. Still, if I were to plunk down $100K for a bunch of old computer stuff, I'd expect to get at least one Model M out of it, wouldn't you? So that's good to know.

This seller, vintagecomputermuseum, always has lots of stuff on ebay.  Some is interesting but it's all expensive.  Now they say their lease is ending.  Does that mean you can beat them down on the price of the individual items they have for sale?

Or is it as xmagusx says, that this is their spare warehouse full of unsaleable junk, and the good stuff is elsewhere?

Oh, it's those guys. Then I'd guess they've already sold off as much of the good stuff as they could, and this is what's left, salted with an interesting item here and there to make it look interesting.

Hey, y'know, this item is described as a "warehouse"—so technically you could insist that the building everything's in be included. There's nothing in the description to contradict that.

For $100k that better include the building. No way the actually good stuff is still left.
I typed this post on my Slanck. I also developed a stronger, cleaner, easier handwiring method.

I would but: "May not ship to Germany - Read item description or contact seller for shipping options. | See details" so unfortunately I am out.

Yikes—that's especially un-funny to those of us with special computer stuff we wouldn't want anyone to steal.  :?P
