The Model M would actually be quite weak in such fights, because the fight ends after all keys come off, it seems.

I think an Alps keyboard would whip butt in this kind of a fight. The keys are on there so tight, I once needed the help of the Pope, the A-Team and  President elect Obama to get an "E" key off one of my Apple IIGS keyboards.

Wait, the IIGS boards (IIRC, they were called the Apple Keyboard) were Alps switches?

Hmm.

What switches? Because my Apple Keyboard II is a mushy rubber dome, and my Apple Extended Keyboard II is blahtastic Alps creams.

One had fake Alps switches that sucked, but the others I've owned had pink and orange sliders. It was just called Apple Keyboard, the crappy one was called the Apple Desktop Bus keyboard. The pink and orange felt pretty close, but if I remember correctly, the pinks were linear and the orange were non-click tactile just like the blacks. This link (http://www.flickr.com/photos/xsphat/1186620417/) has the model numbers on it.

Ah. Turns out, the Apple Desktop Bus Keyboard is the one I was interested in.

I'll just stick with my AEK2, then.

It's the best looking of the bunch, too bad it blows because of the switches.
