I'd love to see a good crab cap. Crustaceans are really beautiful forms that i think would translate well to caps. Might try one too at some point!

Three! Well, in FFX, at least. Can't remember the other games.
But level high enough and even three Bombs blowing up didn't do much.

I recognized those guys right away--FFX is my favorite game of all time!

Also, we need moar Plumkin in our lives.

I remember there being such hate for the game for some reason.
I know people didn't enjoy the character group, but it invited alot of cool concepts and semi turn-based strategy.
I always loved it.

Digressing here, but I don't care!
The first time I played it, it just didn't feel like a Final Fantasy game to me. FFX was the last FF game I played before XII (never played XI), and the former became my favorite game ever, so XII had a lot of high expectations for me. It was getting rave reviews, so I was hyped.
I didn't think the new battle system would bother me, but it did. I couldn't take my turns like I was accustomed, and the summons were a HUGE disappointment, and still are to me.
The leveling system is pretty cool, but the story wasn't the best. Halfway through the game I still didn't know the plotline. That said, the second time I did get it and liked it more. I'm still waiting to see if we're getting the International Version in the west.

I even have the custom firmware in a PS2 memory card, but am waiting to get an HDD to put in the back of the PS2 so I can just play off the hard disk instead of playing off the actual disc.

Yup! All you need is a memory card with Free McBoot, the expansion bay, and a compatible HDD. Oh, and a cable to connect the HDD to your computer to upload the ISOs.
Much better than discs as you don't have to rely on the lens reader; you can play any imports/hacks/translations, and it's all sped up since it's reading off the hard disk instead of the optical disc. Also great if you have a busted or dying lens.  :thumb:

Anyway, I'll stop derailing.  :p

What a fun design! Has a lot in common with your fugu. But those teeth look like a big casting challenge. I'm guessing you'd need a really super flexible mold.

Wouldn't he potentially lose the teeth on the master, but the casts should be solid enough to pop out?

Yes, but their position and shape makes me wonder if they will damage the mold when removed. Cured resin point tips can be sharp. You'd get one of the caps out of the mold just fine, but there's a good chance the next one would have deformed teeth if the first one gouged the mold rubber on the way out.

First two came out clean. For most of my keys I use a very rigid / dimensionally stable silicone with the highest possible tear strength - this makes the molds very difficult to damage in any significant way. Additionally, I tend to pull the cast resin towards the front end of the de-mold window hence they are very soft when they come out. Could definitely see it being as issue with the softer silicons though.

Out of curiosity, what silicone do you commonly use for mold making? I've seen lots of folks use Smooth-on products with good results. I just couldn't' get past their hilariously bad website long enough to figure out what i needed to order when I first got started ;p

In my limited experience, I've found that Alumilite Plat 40 or Plat 55 work best for long-life molds. The more stretchy rubbers are great for designs with undercuts but can be fragile like you indicated.

Cool. Thanks for the info. Maybe I need to take some more risks ;)

Oomoo 30 from smooth on is the most readily available option to me. And pretty cheap when you get it at discount from ****blick.com. It's a 30A silicone. I haven't had serious longevity problems with it except for ones caused by my own mistakes.
